Glenogle Mountain Lodge and Spa

Another couple, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful night at the Glen Ogle Mountain Lodge and Spa a few weeks ago. Doris was friendly from the start and made us feel right at home. We each took a beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean room with a king size bed and walk out porch. We have never felt so welcome and I have never been greeted so warmly before. I felt like I was spending the night with my favourite relatives. The atmosphere in the main room was very inviting and pleasant. We enjoyed a nice drink at the main open area bar with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains socializing with Doris and other guests before retiring. The night was quiet and we all had very restful sleeps. In the morning the showers were exhilarating......then we were greeted in the main room by Doris and her steaming, delicious coffee. Norbert and Doris provided a wonderful breakfast…starting with more coffee, juice, yogurt and fresh mixed fruit. The main course was poached eggs (to perfection), Doris’ specialty pancakes (to die for) and huge tasty sausages. It is a 5 star accommodation and we all give it a 10+/10 with pleasure. We will definitely be coming back again – and as often as we can!!!

The cabins are rustic but charming and comfortable. The best part about our 2 night stay was the owners. Very warm & hospitable. Doris made the most authentic schnitzel for our supper. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. We would definitely stay again.

I agree with what everyone else is saying here, Doris and her husband are lovely people. However what the rest of these reviews fail to mention is how insanely overpriced it is to stay here. The accomodation is advertised as a “resort and spa” which could not be further from what it actually is. It is essentially a b&b at their home except you have to pay more for the breakfast. We paid over $700 for two nights for a room in the basement, that was not clean, that had a “garden view” (which I’m sure once was lovely but has not been maintained and is overrun by weeds), and we didn’t even get a key to lock the room when we were out. We are a young family and this vacation was a big deal for us, and instead of remembering the fun things we did on vacation, all I can think about is how much money we wasted here and where we really could have used it instead. I’m sad and disappointed.

The rooms were very clean. We loved our time here. Doris is an amazing cook and hostess. Her husband is wonderful as well. We were guests in their home.If you want to get back to basics and get into nature this is a perfect spot. Do you remember when people used to sit and talk to each other without the distractions of the Internet, television and gaming?? You can find this when you stay here. Doris cooked us a fabulous meal we enjoyed our meal and drinks out on the their deck. Doris let me pick their raspberries that were in the yard. My mom who has passed away and I used to always pick berries together. I had the opportunity to relive a cherished memory of my Mom surrounded by the beautiful mountains and wonderful fresh air. You are surrounded by mother nature‘s beauty. You can unplug from the busyness and noice of the Internet and TV and plug in to the people around you. I would highly recommend you come and stay here whenever you are in Golden, BC. We will definitely be back. Until then Doris taking care of yourself and your family.

The Glenogle Mountain Lodge is an absolutely beautiful property, that’s tucked away in the mountains near Golden, BC.We called later in the evening, and our reservation was extremely last second, but Doris accommodated us nonetheless and was extremely polite, kind and helpful to make us feel at home on her beautiful property.The rooms are nice, clean and spacious, and with the king size options it makes it a very comfortable stay.I highly recommend the Glenogle Mountain Lodge to anyone who’s passing through Golden/staying for a longer period of time, or who’s looking for a more interesting and unique option versus that of a traditional motel/hotel (or both!)Thanks again Doris!

Wow, what can I say to do this place justice? The lovely German couple that run this little gem are some of the most wonderful folks I've ever met. When we arrived, we were greeted almost like family! The cabin we rented for 2 nights was well appointed and immaculate. The beds are a tad smallish (pretty standard for a cabin, I suppose), but comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, and the water pressure is good. The kitchenette has everything you'd need for an extended stay. The whole place fit 4 very comfortably, and there could potentially be room for more.The chalet part of the place (separate from the cabins) features a gorgeous dining area where (upon request) the couple will make a simply marvellous and elaborate breakfast. Some of the dishes are quite likely either family secrets or historical German recipes, and we will be trying our hand at replicating some of them when we're back home.The hot tub was shut down for the summer season due to unscrupulous folks abusing it, so I didn't deduct any marks for that. One of the neighbours to the property were running their smoker for a few hours in the afternoon, exacerbating the smoke front the regional fires, but again no deductions because it was short-lived and out of the proprietor's control.Over our short stay we really enjoyed the property, and the folks running it. We will absolutely stay in touch, not only to enjoy their hospitality once again, but because we feel like family now!I give this place an 11 out of 10!

Quietest lodging we’ve ever stayed at! Glenogle is a ten minute drive from Golden up a mountain and is owned by a lovely German couple who are friendly and hard working.Our room and bathroom were pristinely clean, the sheets soft and the beds were comfortable. Doris, the proprietress, dries the sheets in the sun.In addition to rooms at the lodge, there are also a few cabins available—all with stunning views of the mountains.Our twin boys loved playing foosball and air hockey in the large games room.Glenogle is a solid choice if you’re searching for solitude in the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Amazing would be the best word to describe our stay here.Amazing location with beautiful views, stunning wood work, the most comfortable california king bed I've experienced.Very well kept, clean and tidy.Doris can cook up a mean breakfast and is a treat to meet and talk with.If you don't want to stay on the main drag while passing through Golden this is most definitely a place to check out.See you again!

The host is absolutely amazing. She makes you feel like you are in a home away from home.The lodges decorations are stunning.The rooms are so peaceful and quiet.Definitely a place to stay and you are located just a couple minutes from the downtown hub. Much safer area with peace and quiet.
