RBC Royal Bank

Mr. Mann and Mr. MacKinnon recently helped me set up an investment retirement account with RBC's Dunbar Branch. I was new to investing, and was very pleased with my advisers' willingness to go the extra mile in teaching me about my investment different options. I also note that I have always had great experiences with the level of customer service available to RBC's clients at this branch. The bankers of RBC Dunbar are consistently friendly and prompt. Thanks RBC, from a happy client.

They told me you don’t need an appointment for ordering cash, but saying I can’t withdraw my money and I have no freedom to withdraw those money because of the RBC debit card agreements. Cool

I went there ystrdy July 4. Teller Kathyrin or Katy said paying property taxes with cash was not allowed. I showed my 2 tax slips from Pemberton, detailing that cash is an option. She then said, “That’s insane.” She said getting that much cash ($10000 & $1000) would require notice, and suggested I pay online. I agreed. She then forwarded both digital payments. One recipient called me today and said I paid $10,000 too much. The recipient has retransferred the 10K. I expect it in a couple days. By then I will have to ask my RBC bank at 685 W.Hastings to give me cash, b/c apparently Dunbar doesn’t have any. Either way, I’m paying 10% interest on the money the government didn’t get by July 4th.Please tell K that the above example is why people prefer to pay in cash.

Very pleasant experience. I have applied for a student’s debit account here. The staff are really helpful.Lucy spent a long time explaining all the details of my account. She has also walked me through the functionalities of their online banking system.There’s also another staff worth mention here. (Sorry I didn’t remember your name) Seeing me wandering in the lobby, (actually I was waiting for my reservation time to come) he came out and asked me if I need help, which seems pretty thoughtful.Anyway, shout out for the wonderful service they provide.

Went to this branch to deposit some cash. The only teller working there counted the cash in front of me and we both verified the amount. When the deposit was made, I noticed I got shorted $100. The teller took my cash away to use a money counter and said he was right, and I wasn't shorted. How can he verify the amount was correct, then deposit a different amount and deny what he verified? Since I had to leave, I didn't pursue it further then. I guess I let my guard down believing bank tellers can be trusted. Never let your cash leave your sight.

0/10. Would not recommend RBC for small business needs.- Poor credit card services. They made us open a GIC to get a credit card and used the GIC funds as credit. Then charged late fees on our own funds.)- Terrible online dashboard- Terrible customer service: After 5 torturous years with RBC, we still do not have a contact at the branch. Everything must be done over the phone or online.- Surprise fees

My mother, who recently lost her husband (my dad), went into the branch to apply for a new credit card as the old one was a joint card, had it cut up in front of her by a branch staff member. Why? Apparently after a death the card is invalid. Yeah whatever but to do something that way to a senior who is grieving is no excuse. She was so shocked she was afraid to ever go back.

Paul was very helpful with my finances! I came in wanting only a new credit card, but left having invested my savings in a much smarter way that would earn me far more interest. Really pleased and happy.

Terrible experience. After providing a power of attorney verified by a lawyer so I could help my dying mother deal with her accounts, the branch manager refused to honor the power of attorney and refused to provide any information about her accounts despite the fact that he acknowledged the power of attorney was valid and a legally binding document. He insisted on speaking to my mother who was incapacitated. It took me weeks and hours of my time to finally gain access, all at a time when I was least able to deal with this kind of petty tyranny that is clearly out of control at RBC
