Shoppers Drug Mart

A clerk whom I asked to help me look for over the counter medicine took away my list, turned it in to the pharmacist claiming it needed to be filled, and told me to leave the store because closing time was approaching and I would have to pick up my prescription in the morning. This morning I went back to Nanaimo from Gabriola Island and the pharmacist told me no prescription was needed and all medicine was OTC. Do not go to this store unless you are interested in wasting time and being treated like garbage.

The worst cosmetics clerk I have ever seen. Not helpful, disrespectful to customers. I wanna give her half star if I could.

This was literally the WORST experience I have every had at a pharmacy. My father was in the hospital and was only able to leave the hospital if we could find a pharmacy that had the meds he needed. We had confirmation that his benefits would cover all costs from the pharmacist over the phone. ($850). Upon arriving at 5:30pm, when everything should have been ready, nothing was ready and we were told that benefits would now not cover. We were put in a situation where I had to either rush my father back to the hospital for these meds or pay the $850 that the pharmacist failed to have organized. Oh and this also took then 2.5 hours with my sick father in the back of the car waiting outside needing the medication that was literally life or death due to blood clots in his lungs. I will never return to this pharmacy again.

Cannot believe that the woman puttering around actually told me that the staff had other things to do then take my payment at the till. Epic failure of service!

Zero stars if I could. Called to refill my prescription(same medication I've had for years). Called TWO DAYS in advance. I went to pick them up and they didn't even have them set up to count let alone in the bottle ready to go. I was asked to wait an hour. I ended up waiting two hours. Then to over hear them call me by a wrong name and give me the wrong medication!!!!

Had a prescription sent in at 10am yesterday, went in at 5pm (assuming this gave them tons of time to fill the prescription, typically it takes 2 hours, but I just moved here so who knows, maybe Nanaimo pharmacies always take a very long time). I was told they had not even entered the prescription into their system and it would be ready hopefully by 5pm the next day (over 24 hour wait for 2 weeks worth of medication). I was very kind to the staff as I don't know what went on that day, etc.. But multiple other people lined up to pick-up prescriptions after me, all of which stated they had their prescriptions dropped off earlier that day as well, and their prescriptions had not been filled yet either. Furthermore, the girl helping me was constantly - and literally - running around and knocking items over while running. She was bouncing around from talking to me, to running away and talking on the phone, to running over to the other worker who was talking to a different customer. I understand places may be short staffed, but organization and professionalism should still apply. I kindly recommend finding a different pharmacy :)

I've had terrible service every time I've gone to this pharmacy. Doesn't matter if you call in your prescription days before pick up, you'll likely still have to wait an hour or two once you get there. It seems like half the staff have had no training and have no idea what they're doing and just stare blankly at their computer screen when you ask them a question. Not to mention I've been forced into withdrawal multiple times because either my prescription was mixed up, the wait time was days long for no reason or they messed up my refill timing and told me I wasn't allowed a refill yet. I'm giving it one more chance otherwise I'm moving pharmacies.

The security guard always follow me around the store, are y’all taught in training session that all natives are thieves?? Even Hudson’s bay staff don’t follow me around. Shoppers only hires prejudice security guards go crazy.

Loved when Tim owned the pharmacy. He and his staff were always on the ball. I have to go weekly for my prescription, and I like the pharmacists, but there are more than a few instances where I've been shorted meds, meds spilled, and other times prescriptions (faxed) are not ready when they have 18 hours to prepare. Kind of frustrating.

Zero, I've had very terrible service every time this pharmacy. Every time i call days before pick up, I still for an hour or two hours. I called to refill my prescription for 14 tablets(same medicine from 1 year) in the morning, and when I went to pick them up. They give me only 13 tablets after an hour wait. When I said, Why do you give me fewer tablets? & she said sorry morning staff print prescription for 13 tablets bymistake
