Very interesting and well planned out museum. Friendly and smiling staff. Everyone was ready to answer questions. We white people owe a lot to all the First Nations. We would all have perished without their help when we first came here. Truly inspiring experience.

We have been welcomed by an amazing staff that were dedicated to the history & culture of the locals. Along to different stories and videos, you will be transported to the past with different exhibitions of things that were used everyday. If you enjoy learning about different cultures, this one is a must. Enjoy your visit!

Words can’t describe the generosity and hospitality of this museum. My grandmother became ill during one of the tours, right away help was sent and she was carried to safety. The museum’s structure is both modern and beautiful while also displaying how advanced and sustainable ancient native culture was despite popular belief of them being primitive. I will definitely be back here, please come to this museum and contribute!

We learned a lot about the ilnuatsh, who return to the shores of Pekuakami (Lac Saint-Jean) each year from the huge expanse of their ancestral lands called Nitassinan. At this museum, one can learn about the richness of their culture and ways of life that have endured for thousands of years. One part of the exhibit is an outdoor grove of trees and shrubs with detailed explanations of the medicinal and practical uses of each plant. The close proximity of the specimens in the garden helps highlight the features of leaves, bark, seed pods/cones that aids identification in the field.

Very interesting museum, well done, lot of information, and people ready to give you more or answer your questions. There is a lot of native goods to see, from boats so clothes, bags and the tool they used.Covid situation was well handled with paths and areas limits, hand sanitizers all the way and goo instructions. The museum was clean, clear, it was not playing on native clichés to pity people, on the contrary it's a very proud explanation of the culture and the way of life.We loved it. As crafter we would have love to have more information about the tooling and how they actually make things and tools, but hey, it needs to speak to everyone.Special congratulation for the outdoor sector that speaks about plants and their qualities, really interesting even under the rain!
