Absolutely delicious food. Upgraded to the filthy fries with the Ganjang chicken sando (pictured). Also had the pear and prosciutto flat bread, highly recommended. Love the variety of local beer on tap, continuously rotating tap. You can never be bored of the options available.It's never a dull moment with good friends, food and of course, beer!

It's a really cool place to go have a drink and some food with friends, super chill vibe! We wanted to stop somewhere for a couple of beers and decided this was the place. Service was great, lots of beers and ciders to choose from. We only got loaded fries, so we can't comment on their other food. But what we did have was good. My only complaint is that our server spilled my flight and didn't top them up. I would go back to try some more brews.

The atmosphere in the place is good. The place looks nice. I ordered the spaghetti dish and it was spicy ( it wasn't mentioned in the menu). They changed my dish to the flat bread and I didn't like it either. The onion was not cooked enough and the dough was not well made. In addition , I was disappointed about the service. I waited 30 minutes for glass of water after few times of requests. Eventually I went to take a glass from the bar by myself.

We checked out The Barley Merchant around 6:30pm on Wednesday evening. The service was quick to taking our drink orders and we didn't have to wait long for our burgers and fries.Food:We enjoyed our burgers and drinks. My husband got the Bacon Cheddar and a flight of ciders. I loved The Dirty Bird (chicken) and liked The Floral Fizz. I tried and added the Filthy Fries to my order, but found the chili oil overpowered the flavours of everything else that was added. I couldn't taste the spices, pickled onions and mayo flavours. I would not pay extra to order the Filthy Fries again.Atmosphere:It's quite noisy with a pretty maxed room and patio doors opened with all the people chattering, so I wouldn't bring my child with me again. We were seated in a booth, but I had to raise my voice just to communicate with my husband seated almost next to me. I would introduce the restaurant to my friends though.

My wife and I came here 3 months ago, the food was great but the service needed some paying attention to. I left a 3 out of 5 stars here on Google, within a matter of a day or 2 I received and email from the manager or owner I can’t remember, requesting my address.2 weeks went by and they actually followed up as I got busy and forgot to respond so this time I did. In the mail a short time later I received a $25 gift card, we were pleasantly surprised.Today finally 3 months later we have returned to The Barley Merchant, and of course this time I’m paying close attention to everything.Well how did it go? Let me tell you!Decor; 5 stars, love the whole Craft brewery feel with smiling staff all through out.Food; 6 stars if I could go that high. I had the Dirty bird, a delightful crispy chicken sandwich with a nice bite to it, this was recommended to me by our server and it did not disappoint. My wife really enjoyed her Prosciutto Pear Flat bread, and I almost forgot we shared the pulled pork Street Merchant Tacos and they were outstanding, be sure to ask for a side of their signature hot sauce! My wife also had a Caesar with pickle infused Vodka, not really my thing but she seemed to enjoy it.Service; this is what was lacking the first time around but they really pulled through this time, our server Devon was excellent, he was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions. 5 stars!! Well done Devon!Hopefully it doesn’t take 3 months to come back but we will be back. All around 5 star experience, thank you for the gift and a great second experience!

We ate here for the first time last night, we were very impressed by the local support from the restaurant being served! Local beer, local food, we are here for it!! Our server was super nice and was easy to communicate with. I look forward to the next visit, thank-you!

Visited here next to the theatre for dinner before a movie. We grabbed a flight of beers (can’t recall which ones lol) and a pint of “Hammer Time Pale Ale” which were all great. I tried the Brisket Sandwich on their test kitchen menu and subbed my fries for their “filthy fries” which were delicious. The brisket though I found to be a little bland and dry unfortunately. All their other food items look amazing from what I saw while I was there so I will still definitely return to sample some other dishes!Edit: replying to owner reply.I appreciate your reply and that you’re respectful in taking constructive criticism. I understand the Brisket Sando was a test kitchen feature so you’re obviously still working out the kinks. Looking forward to my next visit☺️

Trendy place. They have nice garage doors to access the patio, it creates a nice environment when they are all open. Extensive craft beer selection on draught, connected with untappd which is nice.
