Merit Electronics

I have brought a device in to be fixed. I've read good reviews on other platforms, but when I saw his shop, I knew that's who I wanted to do the repair. I hope that he can fix the darn thing. Either way I know he'll do his best.Four stars at the moment because you don't really know how a thing goes until it goes. I will apply more or fewer stars appropriately on the other end of this transaction. Just common sense, really.I'd do it myself, but I absolutely don't work on electronics. It's a bad idea. But I've heard nothing but good things about this fellow, Mr. Chui. I hope that he gets some enjoyment from having a poke around in there.

Brought in my overhead control panel for my Mercedes Benz. Vince had it repaired within a week. Hes very friendly, honest and will tell you honestly if your electronics are worth saving. Mercedes wanted $220 for a new one. Vince only charged me $20 and it works like new. Thank you again Merit Electronics.

This guy is great! He fixed a damaged switch for $30 it would have cost me $250 to replace the unit.AND his shop is awesome, you go in there and you half expect him to either send you on a side quest, demand payment in gold coins or give you a gremlin if you play a mini game.

Merit Electronics and Vincent are highly recommended by me and have earned themselves a repeat customer and advocate for their services.As the only option open on a Monday, I thought I would try Merit Electronics to see if they could fix two pairs of high quality over ear headphones that have ceased to work (AKG and Beyerdynamic).As others note, you are greeted by a store that is jam packed with stacks of a variety of electronic equipment. Next, you meet Vincent, who diligently determines and confirms (by testing it himself) the issue you are having. Vincent then told me of the possible areas that would require fixing, making clear his limitations if it was something outside of his expertise.Two days later both of my headphones are in excellent working condition with an extremely modest bill. Do yourself a favour and see Vincent, he delivers fantastic service and his shop is sure to cause some nostalgia.

Had my energy big sub fixed in three days for a little over $30. Messy shop with every bit of space except for a 4 x 6' spot is stacked chest high with old equipment etc. he scavengers parts from . People who can fix electronics are hard to come by. Sound hounds had to close their repair department because they can't find somebody willing to do it. I have a brother who could do the work but he , like most repair qualified personnel ,is making probably 200,000 a year in Alberta instead of 60,000 or less as a electronics repair person . Get your stuff fixed now

He repaired my Beyerdynamic headphones and replaced the old coiled cable with a straight one. I tested them out before leaving and noticed the sound in the left/right channels was reversed... I mentioned it and he kindly fixed it in 15 minutes. Just amazing. I'll be coming back here if I have any electronic issues.

Took my laptop in and he fixed it in 3 days and for a very reasonable rate. Thought I was going to have to buy a new laptop so very happy he was able to fix it!! Will definitely go back!!

I brought a small guitar amplifier to the shop because the power cable had snapped completely off the board (fell off a table). The owner was able to solder a new fitting to both the amp and the original cable without having to wait for personalized parts from Yamaha (this saved time and money). The repair was prompt and excellent value. I will definitely return if I have defective/broken electronic devices in the future.Ps. Don't judge a book by it's cover. The shop looks like a bomb went off when you walk in (piles of electronic devices everywhere). However, they seem to know what they're doing, and the rates are excellent.Tom

5 STARSGREAT, FAST, RELIABLE, FRIENDLY, REASONABLE, AND AWESOME!!!!!!!I damaged the USB port on my TV, I searched the internet for options, and I originally Found “Q-Tel Services LTD”. Where they were going to charge me $45 upfront just for dropping my TV off, then they said that they would call me later with the final price on the parts. Out of curiosity I asked for an estimate, and they just told me they would be contacting the manufacturer and replacing THE ENTIRE CIRCUIT BOARD... (at that rate I would probably be better off buying a new TV) so I asked, why not just replace just the USB port that has been damaged? They assured me that something like that was not possible, and my only other option would be to call my manufacturer and see if I could be covered by warranty (which I was not)So I picked up my TV and went to Merit Electronics, where I should’ve went in the first place. I told him about the broken USB port, he told me he could fix it, all I would need to do is remove the circuit board (super easy), and bring it to him with the new USB port replacement.... $10 and about 12 hours later, my TV is good as new!Merit Electronics should always be your first choice here in Victoria! I wish it was mine, he must have saved me $100’s of dollars. THANK YOU!!
