DO NOT GET GEEK SQUAD PHONE PROTECTION PLANsalesperson pushed me into this when I informed her I didn't want it as mailing my phone in and being without a phone wasnt a good option for me and she lied and said with the expensive $21 a month plan if anything happened I could bring my phone in and receive a new one. This was a lie. You have to mail it in and wait for a new one to be mailed out. I paid $21 a month for a year and a half and when I finally needed to use this plan they told me it would be 5-7 business days for a new phone to be mailed to me after paying a $840 deposit and a $200 deductible.WASTE OF MONEYMost expensive phone protection plan I've ever heard of! Cheaper to not pay a monthly fee and go pay for a phone repair somewhere else if needed.I strongly urge all not to sign up for this, irs the biggest rip off ever.I have always gotten my phones and plans through best buy and I will no longer be continuing with their services.

Geek squad sucks

I bought a laptop in BestBuy and had Geek Squad checked it for addtional memory card but I was advised that I need to contact the manufacturer for a certain part. So heres the problem when the laptop was returned to me, the extra micro SD I left was already stuck in its slot. When I returned it to have it fixed, they declined without me paying 1st because I have no paper trail. When I reasoned out that I dont have any bcoz their staff simply didnt issue anything, the manager on duty was firm that he'll do it only if i have a previous work order/receipt which is impossible to have. Im not sure what part of the scenario he didnt understand or he just really didnt have the kind consideration. Not good for a first time experience though but can be used as a reference if youre planning to bring your gadgets to them.

I don't know how good their service is because they didn't offer the one I wanted but navigating through their phone system is next to impossible. Way too many options, none of which are the reaon you are calling, and I just kept going around in circles. I eventually gave up after a couple of tries and just drove down there to ask them a question on an install. I had to wait 5 minutes at the counter before someone noticed me. The two reps were busy in the back. No lineup though, which was nice. I guess no one wants their computers fixed, or they are very efficient at what they do.

I bought this monthly Service Contract, when I bought the phone.Now, I find out they are Not there to Coach me thru, when I'm having PROBLEMS with my Phone !

Abdul was very patient and helpful, he answered all my questions and got my laptop back in working order!

Note: the original repair by a third parrty company - that Bestbuy refers to - did a wonderful job. Geeksquad/Bestbuy should look to them for inspiration perhaps. Geeksquad/Bestbuy: Terrible, inefficient service"

Very professional and nice.

Said 4 minute wait.They never answered the phone. Hung up after 20 minutes. Never got to talk to anyone.
