Avalon Eye Care - Vaughan

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Avalon Eye Care for an eye exam and to purchase new sunglasses, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I highly recommend their services and products.

Such a great environment, amazing customer service and so great for kids who need to visit their eye doctor! Dr. Nadia S was so great with our little one! Highly recommend for young families.

Great staff, great service, great experience. Dr. Iskander did a thorough eye exam, took the time to explain each step and answered all my questions. He was very kind and patient. I had my first comprehensive eye exam here and it was great! The machines are high quality and very interesting. It's the first time I'veever seen a detailed photo of my eyes! The staff at Avalon are also very friendly and punctual. Dr. Solaka ensured that I understood the results of the eye exam and is incredibly knowledgeable!

Dr. Nadine Solaka is amazing; she cares about her patients and makes you feel so comfortable and welcome at her office. I can't thank her enough for the time she spent with us and the advice she gave me.

I had my first ever comprehensive eye exam today at the office & I am extremely grateful for the eye doctor who helped me understand my concerns. I was looking for an eye care specialist as my mom needed help with her vision. We were recommended to Avalon and now we understand why. We did not have to wait long (although the chairs are very comfy!) as they were punctual and ready for us even though we arrived 15 mins early. The consultation was went smoothly because Dr. Nadine is very understanding and patient. My mom is very fussy but Dr. Nadine comforted my mom and even helped choose the perfect frames! Normally going to the optometrists is routine but if you want a friendly and professional service I would recommend Avalon if you are in need within the Vaughan Woodbridge area.

The office staff is incredibly friendly, they made a great first impression as I have never been to this optometrist before. I found the exam fascinating, no other optometrist has ever noticed or explained that I had birthmarks on my eyeball, and shown me detailed photos of my eyes. I was really concerned but all of my fears were alleviated .The remedies the doctor recommended for my dry, red eyes were free, at-home remedies I can easily do myself, no prescription eye drops or expensive medicine and the best part , it worked! They also have a great selection of glasses and sunglasses. This is my new office .

Unfortunately my experience with Avalon was disappointing.I went in for a comprehensive eye exam, and got a prescription for glasses. A few days later I went to a different place (closer to home) to have the glasses made based on that prescription, but when I picked up the glasses I noticed that my vision was not that much better. I ended up having another eye exam at the other place, and it turned out that the prescription from Avalon was wrong (too low), so I had to purchase yet another set of lenses and get the glasses redone.Needless to say this was a very costly experience, and I won't be returning to this office.EDIT - I am editing my review after the owner's response to my review on May 20, 2023: today was the first time I heard from you, since the day I wrote my original review. I'm confused as to why you would say you reached out to discuss and I didn't allow you at all? Had this truly happened, I would have appreciated it and taken you up on it, because it would have saved me paying another few hundred dollars on another exam!Anyway, I do appreciate that you reached out to me now. At the moment I don't need another recheck as I'm happy with the glasses I got from the other place, but should you wish to discuss further I'm open to it, you can email me anytime.
