Notch Hill Park
Nice hike overlooking Nanoose Bay. Once you reach the top you have views down the bay towards Nanaimo and some excellent views towards the mountains. There are some steep sections that would not be accessible for everyone. There are a few maps located within the park to guide you around. Multiple loops and trails to enjoy walking over the bare ridges, through the forest and up an access road.

You gain quite a bit of altitude over a fairly short length of trail bit the view in the end is amazing. The trail is very well established but it is still possible to slip as there are some very steep sections.

Such an incredible little hike! It's a relatively quick one (<3km), but the views are absolutely spectacular. The terrain is very different from most PNW hikes I've done, with lots of jagged rocks and zillions of Arbutus and oak trees. the peak was pretty socked in (October 6th), but still an incredible payoff.Great hike for the family (we did it with our 14 and 12 year olds), and loved it. The dog loved it too. :)

Wear good shoes for this. If you’re a beginner, it’ll be a bit challenging at the start, but worth it once you get to the top. We often bring a little snack and sit to enjoy the view.

Beautiful forest trails and scenic vistas. Lots of Arbutus trees. Many parts of the trails are steep and have lots of elevation so bring good footwear. The views are worth it!

This was harder than I thought. It’s quite a hike up and it’s steep in many places. Took us an 1 hour 20 min to do the loop (from AllTrails). Absolutely worth it to do the loop. Beautiful views and scenery the whole way. Good workout!

Notch Hill Park
Lovely park with well maintained trails and great views at the summit and lookout area. The trail loop is fairly short but there are sections that are steep and makes it more than “just a walk in the park”. Small gravel parking is available at trailhead but I can see that it can fill up quickly on weekends.

I loved it. The directions posted online are clear. The hike itself is steep but really manageable. My favorite part was the view from the top. I also really enjoyed walking through the Garry Oak Ecosystem.

Today I was with the Group at Discovery at Inclusion Parksville. We went to Notch Hill Park and I took some shots of a view of the small Islands and Enos Lake and a picture of a snake.

Very nice easy incline about 20 degrees for about 400 to 600 meters levels off for awhile then about 30 degree incline from the far side for about 2 to 300 meters to the summit. Well maintained trails, gravel and solid rock, light soil for most of the walk. Loved it by far one of the most scenic places I have visited so far.
