Northern Cottage Comfort

My first visit to the NCC Workshop in Havelock was to have a custom side-table made for my Art Retreat and l fell in love with everything and bought a bathroom ‘basket’.When l returned to pick it up l spotted large wooden serving trays..perfect for plein-air artists at their various outdoor painting stations.Rob is an amazing carpenter. He fulfills that unique original Muskoka tradition in everything he makes. The antiqued whitewash, wood stains and his wax seals create both a smooth and deeply rich finish.I received a request to paint a cow on wood, again l called Rob. What an amazing job..sanded so smooth with visible wood grain and l incorporated that feature to show through: my client was thrilled and loved how it emulated a cow inside the barn!Recently my very patriotic son was returning from a deployment in Latvia for Christmas and yes, l called Rob.He made a larger beautifully smooth wooden canvas, which he delivered. I painted the 2 flags and that gift was extremely appreciated.Rob is now creating 2 NCC Branded tabletops to hug 2 iron end-table stands, for summer use in my Gazebo by the front pond.I already know they will be perfect!!Thankyou to everyone at NCC!!!Sharon Cordes, OwnerCordes Art RetreatOrillia/Severn, Ontario
