Bow Wow Academy

I took my dog Sailor to Bow Wow's Agility Basics class and absolutely loved it! It was a really fun, low-key, and supportive class, and we learned a lot. Yoko is amazing at what she does and I appreciate that she only uses positive reinforcement and allows dogs to learn at their own pace. Sailor can be a timid dog, so the class was great for building her confidence. On our first day, she panicked if I left her side, but by the end, she was happily ditching me to go play with Yoko! The class was also amazing for using up energy, and Sailor would be exhausted afterwards. I would highly recommend this class to anyone!

Yoko is an fabulous trainer. Her energy, enthusiasm, and expertise were very helpful. She gave excellent advice for dealing with the specific needs and behaviour concerns of our Vizsla puppy.We attended the Puppy Manners course as a family (including my 5 year old daughter). Everyone learned so much and had a blast. It was the highlight of our week.Yoko exceeded our expectations by emailing photos, videos, lesson plans and homework, so we would see our dog’s progress throughout the course. The “extras” made the program have good value for the price.

This was my first time using Bow Wow Academy and would definitely use them again and recommend them. Yoko is so down to earth and kind and knows her stuff about dog training. I also appreciated how she explains things and her approach to dog training. She is always very responsive if you have questions or messages. My 5 month Labrador Retriever loves going to class with Yoko and the team at Bow Wow. Puppy Manners is a great way to start the dog training journey. Maddy and I are looking forward to Teen Manners and learning more skills. Thanks again Yoko!

Yoko and Bow Wow Academy have changed our lives! Our little puppy Chester loves every class, the treats, the interactions and what they learn each week is incredible.As first time dog owners, we don’t know where we’d be without Yoko and her amazing team. I cant say enough good things about Yoko and her amazing assistants! We took our 4month old staffy puppy to puppy classes, Yoko was able to accommodate us and do an at home training session for our first class as we were unable to be there for the first one, the second she set foot in our house our puppy rooster was in love!! Yoko brought so much positive and happy energy that our pup responded to immediately! In class, Yoko and her assistants create a fun and safe space that set the puppies up for success and fun. We have seen so much growth in our boy and the positive approaches we have learned at bow wow academy have allowed us to create such a strong bond with our dog and has made training so much fun for all of us! We loved our puppy class so much we signed up for teen manners, we never thought we would be excited to go to school on saturdays but here we are!! Thank you Yoko!!

We’ve had a great experience with Yoko and Bow Wow Academy! As first time dog owners knowing how to give a puppy the tools they need was very overwhelming and we can’t imagine doing it without Yoko. Piper is now a graduate of Puppy, Teen and Advanced manners classes and the tips and resources provided by Yoko in all three have been invaluable for our dog ownership experience. Classes are always fun for both owners and dogs - we’re continually impressed by how much dogs can learn when taught right! We love the sole focus on positive reinforcement and insights into dog behaviour. Yoko is 100% Piper’s favourite person and we can understand why :)

Yoko and her assistant were very professional and worked so well with all the puppies. Yoko proved that every puppy can be trained (even our naughty little pup!) and it was great to see every puppy respond so positively to her training methods.

Yoko has a genuine love for all dogs and is tireless in her commitment during her classes. The classes are small and Yoko is very organized. She gives clear handling demonstrations to owners with lots of individual attention and follow up training for each dog. Our dachshund puppy responded positively and enthusiastically to her training techniques and has much better manners as a result. I highly recommend Bow Wow Academy!

Yoko is Amazing!!! I was looking for someone with a high level experience to help with a very complicated trauma case. Lily was sent my way under stressful conditions. She was seized from a hoarder situation, along with her mother and 30-40 other dogs. She was 3 days old. The weeks that followed, had her shuttled to three additional shelters before she found her way up to me. Her mother was very fearful of all humans, and so was Lily. In this past year Lily has been able to settle into our home and we have been able to address many of the issues that came with her traumatic past. Our problem was that Lily’s fear when meeting new friends, or going for walks, remained high and was not improving, no matter what we tried. We decided it was time to get a professional.I went online, and after reading all the reviews, I settled on contacting Yoko from Bow Wow Academy. Yoko responded to our inquiry same day. We settled on the 3 -1 hr Private Sessions Package to start. We were scheduled in soon after. Yoko is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind and patient. Exactly what we needed. I am so grateful for her wisdom and ability to breakdown any situation, with understanding and wisdom. Giving clear solutions and effective exercises, every session, that have led to powerful results for Lily, and left me hopeful.If you need someone that knows their stuff, she’s the one for you.
