Westend Seniors Activity Centre

We purchased a beautiful outdoor potted Christmas decoration from the Westend Seniors. A fundraiser they are doing. Their activities center is great. Such friendly staff and a what a beautiful place.

I just want to comment on the frozen meals and soups. If you are thinking about this, I hope this helps you. I highly recommend this. Maybe to not cover every lunch and supper, but even to have on hand. The soup containers have 2 servings. I supplement my soup lunch with one of the biscuits or I make a sandwich or slice of toast. I have tried 4 of the soups and they are all great. For me, the frozen meals are also 2 servings and in some cases 3 servings. I supplement the frozen meals with cooked vegetables. I am trying to eat a little less meat and more veggies, so this works well for me. Other frozen meals I have tried from elsewhere have been very high in sodium, and I find these meals are not, and are flavoured with more herbs than salt. They are very handy and allow for a wide variety of menu choices. I was finding that I was eating the same thing all the time. I’d suggest trying these, even for one week. What you pay for this, you will definitely save on your grocery bill.

Had our Condo board mtg at the Westend Senior centre. Great bldg. Lots of room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Was great.

Overall a good place for activities and lots to do for seniors. A great place for people to get together and share in all kinds of courses and fun events such as the amazing race. My only complaint is the poor hours for billiards. Would prefer afternoon times instead of mornings.

Experienced racial discrimination in the workplace .. the chef does not follow food safety guidelines and has no concern for food safety or hygiene.

This is a very unique and complete facility for seniors. Impeccably clean. Food is excellent in the Cafe. Tons of programs to choose from.

Great gathering place for seniors. We were there for scrabble games but many other activities offered including fitness, cards, pool, cribbage, library, puzzles, and so much more. Staff are helpful, friendly and make one feel quite welcome. Senior volunteers are here and can always use extras. Monthly.birthdays, potlucks and various day trips are organized. So happy my spouse and I have joined and paid for our memberships. We visit twice weekly for carpet bowling, scrabble and my spouse comes a third time to play cribbage.

Average facility.Very clean. I would recommend this facility.

I have been doing work here as a contractor and witnessed all that they have to offer. The number of classes available is amazing and cater to all ages and abilities. Above all, the socialization of all the visitors looks like a fun and happy experience for all around.
