Civello Oakville Salon & Spa

The staff at Civello are amazing. Very talented and very kind. I've been going to the Oakville location for years, but the prices have gotten too high. Paying for heat styling after spending $320 on services is ridiculous. Paying $50 for a toner for 10 highlights is ridiculous. I understand paying $135 for the colour and $100 for highlights... it's being applied by a Sr. level colourist. I'm paying for the product and their skills. If you want your customers to leave looking like they just payed almost $400 for their hair (after tip) stop charging them for heat styling and a toner that goes on for 5 min. No bottle of toner is worth $50.

I consider this place to be the bitchy sister of the Queen street location. I have gone here a few times simply because the location and my hair cutter Sammie is really nice. But the overall feel of this place is snobby and rude. For example, I have bangs and get them cut every so many weeks, but when I go to queen street versus Oakville location, the service is very different. I went to queen street a few times (I used to live closer) and they did my bangs with no attitude, spent more time than necessary to get them perfect and there was no hair left on me. When I go to Oakville, I am always rushed in and out and there’s more often then not hair all over me. At queen street they put the full cover on me so hair doesn’t get anywhere. At Oakville, they make me hold a small towel under my face. My bangs get cut both ways but the quality of care is better at queen street. Another example is today I went there to get my bangs cut again and they didn’t bother to but a closed for the holidays sign on the door or online. I called the store cuz it looked closed and someone answered and told me that there was a sign. So I went back and checked and I still don’t see a sign. I might be wrong, maybe there is a sign. I’ll leave photos for you to check. But if there is a sign I don’t think it’s reasonably large enough for the customers. It’s the lack of customer care that brings this place down.

I’ve been going to Ashleigh for highlights for over 5 years and she’s amazing! Whether I wanted to go lighter or darker she always took the time to find out what look I was trying to achieve and offered conservative suggestions. I’ve had so many compliments on my highlights and I am always quick to refer Ashleigh. If you want beautiful blond highlights then go see Ashleigh. You will not be disappointed.

I was recommended to Ashleigh over 17 years ago as she specialized in blonde hair. I haven’t looked back and in fact followed her from downtown Toronto Civello to Oakville when she changed locations. She’s highly skilled, attentive and delivers on the needs of the client. There’s no one I trust more to highlight my hair.Highly recommend!!

I’ve just had my highlights done - another great appointment at Civello! Ashleigh has been doing my hair for 7 years and she’s amazing. She is punctual, attentive, and does a great job every time. I had some lowlights put in to break up the colour this time and it looks great, not ashy. She definitely listens to what you want and has lots of experience to know what can and can’t work on your hair.My only complaint would be the salon needs to invest in some new robes as they are getting a little tired looking.

I have seen MacKenzie [Oakville location] several times for a shellac manicure. She is simply AWESOME!!! I have problem" nails due to an autoimmune condition. This wonderful lady succeeds in making my hands look attractive. Can't thank her enough...."

I’ve been going to Civello for years. Ashleigh Stapleton was my colour technician. Although. I brought photo examples, she ignored my request for a new look. My colour was corrected by another technician, but it is now so damaged that it’s impossible to style. Management attempted to make amends, but I still had to pay to have another colourist to work on my hair. Free product doesn’t really change the condition of my hair. No follow up or apology from Ashleigh. I was greatly saddened by this as she has even coloured my hair at my home. Loyalty means nothing. There are so many other top salons out there. I’m surprised that there wasn’t really a concern about customer retention.

I had the best experience with Civello! I worked with Brando to go from dirty blonde to platinum and he couldn’t have done a better job. I absolutely love the results he is extremely talented. Thank you so much for a great experience and results:)!

Wish the hours of operation would return to pre-pandemic hours eg open Sunday. It is almost impossible to book a stylist/colorist if you work full time. I have switched salons as a result, to one that seems to recognize that not everyone stays at home.
