Earl Turcott Waste Management Facility

Due to the pandemic operation the Recycle depot in Markham on Hwy 7/Markham Rd, was closing the line for cars at 3:20pm and I just missed it.Checking the Markham webpage I noticed that this waste depot had longer hours. As my car was packed full with recyclables I decided to make the longer drive. This depot is very large and apparently set-up to also handle commercial waste. I.e. you have to drive on a scale on the way in and out.At the 1st scale I was asked about the kind of waste I had and was told that I am all clear with household waste. Inside the depot staff was polite and courteous. But unfortunately nobody informed me that household waste still incurred a fee that I would have to pay on the way out,After unloading I drove out of the depot towards the exit where there is another scale, I approached slowly when the attendant at this scale came running out and started berating me. Accusing me to try to sneak out, telling me that this was criminal and that there are cameras all around, and that they could call the police on me. At no time did she tell me where exactly I would have to make the payment.Bewildered I turned around, just to realize that I still had no idea where to go, so I had to go back to the irate attendant at the last scale, who again started to berate me, but finally gave me the required instructions after asking her with all the politeness I could muster.The exit payment must be performed on the other side of the scale that you entered at. The fee in my case was $10.This is the first time somebody threatened to call the police on me, and I hope it will be the last time.

First time there girls working in booth were very ride and ignorant and unprofessional. Will never go back.

Completely exceeded my expectations! We dropped by on consecutive days. Both times, the staff were extremely helpful and so pleasant!!! The place was well organized. I never thought i would give a garbage dump 5 stars. But here we are. Sure, it smells bad. But what would you expect? Wear a handkerchief with perfume over your nose and mouth or bring a mask.

Pros: cost effective and not expensive.also - quick and easy disposal from your vehicle. Just drive, weigh in and unload.Cons: need BETTER signage for the public as to WHERE to drive from scale to drop bay.I got yelled at by an angry worker woman for not waiting behind the wait here" sign as I didn't see it.Overall a great facility."

Good facility but hours of operation are just a joke ! How all the roofers, windows and doors, landscapers, and any construction / renovation guys with trailers or trucks can dump their garbage on monday saturday and sundays only ? Open up for public ! Every day !

Went there there to dump off some construction material as i am doing some my own home renovations.In and out in 10 minutes. Staff directed me where to go and check out was no issue. Very convenient.Not sure what everyone is complaining about? It's a dump yard.

The staff at the check out was extremely rude. I missed the first scale for check out cuz I didn’t see that. Then I stoped at scale near the exit and the guy at the second scale told me that I had to pay at the first scale. When I came back, the lady talked to me like I ran away and got caught. I explained the situation and she kept talking like she couldn’t stop.She is trying to do her job, so do I!!Her attitude is just unacceptable.

I come here three times, none of them allow me to dump. Poor service
