Super 8 by Wyndham Port Elgin

Every visit to the Port Elgin Super 8 is amazing! The staff, the rooms, the amenities…all top notch! Our family has been coming here for decades and now I get to share it with my own kids! We always have the best time! Can’t wait to go back in August!

Stayed there recently for a week for some Pharmacy work..Great clean place and friendly people..Everyday, after a long day of stressful work, it felt relax going back to the hotel and have a sound sleep. Cleanliness seems to be their top priority..Special thanks to Joanna for her lovely customer services and hospitality and Ofcourse to her team as well..Definitely a go place for me if I am in the area again.

We had an amazing stay, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Fantastic place all around, we'd come back first chance we get. Big shout out to Joanna and all the staff for making it extra special. An outstanding group of people that run the show here!

This hotel is a very nice place to stay. It is family-friendly with a pool and hot tub. Games can be borrowed to play outside. The atmosphere is a very relaxed homey feel. The staff here are really good and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great experience. We were originally coming up for the hot tub and to go biking in the trails. The hot tub was closed we were disappointed at first, but the biking trails, the service and the great rooms made the fact the hot tub wasn’t available go away.

Stayed for a week while working in Port Elgin. To be honest, it’s a Super 8 and I didn’t expect much but this place is terrific. It’s the cutest old fashioned family motel/hotel renovated like new. And I received better service here than at the ritziest hotels. Cleanest rooms, comfortable beds, amazing pools, and fabulous staff. They haven’t spared any detail. Highly recommend!

An unexpectedly amazing experience. Rooms are very cosy and comfy. Clean washroom. Decent gym with a sauna, indoor and outdoor pool. They also provide a bbq equipment. Ample of parking too. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and very good too.

Staff very nice and rooms are clean. Unfortunately pool was in need of repair and included breakfast was so so. Expensive too. Location is good though.Day 2 brekkie improved a lot

Nice hotel to stay at for families, there’s some great things about this Super 8 and a few things that I think can be improved. Let’s start off with what was great about this hotel. First off it’s conveniently located in Port Elgin, with easy access off the main road, and ample parking. Plenty of places to eat in the immediate area in walking distance, along with shops and stores nearby.The check-in process was great also, staff was very friendly and helpful and we definitely felt welcomed. The hotel and rooms all feel fresh and newly renovated. We got a rundown of where everything was in the hotel along with a list of awesome little bonuses like access to BBQs, outdoor seating for eating or hanging out, outdoor yard games like corn hole, yardzee, bocce ball, and more, along with board games available to borrow.The included breakfast was also good with bacon, eggs, sausage, toast/bagels, cereal, and juices. The dining area was bright and spacious with plenty of seating. There’s a selection of snacks you can buy from reception also if you’re feeling hungry during your stay.Now onto the OK, the room was nicely finished with a newer decor and feel. Everything was cleaned when we arrived and we felt comfortable. The beds were quite firm though, the first night I couldn’t sleep at all as my back was in so much pain, the second night was a bit better. We found the room a bit stuffy also requiring the A/C on all night, yet still felt stuffy. Only window in the room was the sliding door to the parking lot, and the curtains didn’t have sheers so we kept the curtains closed and the door shut the whole stay. The washroom had a nice modern feel but the toilet was very small, even for my 9 year old. It was cramped between the bathtub and the sink making it hard to use.Now onto the bad, which should be something that can be easily remedied. This hotel stands out as having two pools, an indoor and outdoor pool, yet both were pretty dirty. The outdoor pool was fine but looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed for several weeks. The indoor pool was dirtier, I found clumps of hair on our second swim along with other floating dirt. The deck surface looks like it was covered up with a cheap rock epoxy which is starting to fall apart, several large holes exposed the tile deck underneath, but most of the rocks were now at the bottom of the pool. Not only did this make it hard to touch the bottom but clearly showed that the pool isn’t being cleaned actively. The epoxy rocks were loose and would stick to our feet after getting out of the pool which wasn’t pleasant.I’d definitely consider staying here again if we could get softer beds and the pools were cleaned up. As mentioned, the staff were fantastic and made the experience better.
