I applied for a mortgage in this bank and they are very difficult I am self employed but they don't really support self employees they told me I had to look for a full time job a part of my business they don't care if you die from working plus I make enough money To support a mortgage but they are being difficult yeah it's difficult they told me to me to print All my statements on paper and the rest of the paperwork I put it in a big envelope. Then they lost the papers in just a month I gave it to them. I ask them to give me the papers back so I could apply in another bank but they just lost everything this is a very disorganized bank and the people are not friendly they treat you like if you're nothing. I have a property of one million dollars fully paid fully paid and they still don't approve my mortgage. I don't recommend this bank for mortgages go somewhere else.

I deposited a certified cheque at ATB this branch, Teller Samson Li called the cheque bank Scotia bank, no answer, he did not leave message, did nothing, just told me the money takes 6 days to be released. But Why? normal cheque only takes 5 days. I said I paid $25 to have it certified, just to have extra one day pending? I deposited certified cheque in other banks, money available right away. he said I can not challenge his bank rule with my own experience, certified is only one step of depositing and 6 days pending. it is still just a cheque. If I don't trust him, he can't help. I asked him to contact SC bank one more time, he said he can only wait for scotia bank to contact him, OMG, how come SC contact him? how can scotiabank know which bank, which branch I deposited this cheque? does Scotiabank know him? know me? it is not the right procedure. he didn't even leave a voice message to scotiabank. and I really can not agree 6 days pending. except it, This teller Li is so harsh, bad attitude. he then tried to ask another teller to get me out, but that guy is more helpful, at least copied the cheque, planed sending message to SC to confirm. During this time, Li wanted me out, not to stop his helping next customer, I said my service was not finished yet. Then that teller came to get Li email address, said he would send cheque copy to Li, then it is still Li's job to send email to SC to get confirmed. Li looks strange, asked why is him send email. so much not respinsible. not sure if he finally sent message. but I was told once scotiabank confirmed, the money would be released.if I did not insist, Li would hold the certified cheque 6 days. terrible his understanding the rule. A bank is good or not, only see when there is special request,(although deposit certified cheque is not so special) if they can understand, can follow the rule and can solve it in correct way, if a teller can not understand a certified cheque, what did the bank do on the training and hiring?

I just visited this bank. I really didn’t think that the teller was particularly informative, welcoming, or sociable (he certainly wasn’t friendly). He was, at least, helpful.It’s a shame, because we are looking to switch from our current bank for service reasons: we don’t feel that we receive even remotely good service whenever we go in in person. If this is what I can expect from ATB financial in the future, why would I switch to this bank?

Worst banking experience of my life. The person we have dealt with at this branch is HORRIBLE. Sonia rarely returns phone calls or emails and when you do happen to speak with her she is condescending and rude. In the course of our dealings with her, she made several major mistakes that have impacted our timelines and finances. She is completely incompetent. We have been asking some of the same questions for months and still have not been given answers. Despite being told several times that I am the one who manages our finances, she will only respond to my husband, which is frankly unproductive and rude. Bad experience from beginning to end, avoid this place like the plague.Edit: I was able to talk with the Branch Manager, Daniel. Night and day. He was very courteous and responsive. Still would not deal with Sonia again, but the issues I had have now been addressed.

This is the worst atb in Calgary I went there on a Friday and stand in line for 10. It never moved at all. Then I went back on Saturday and was standing There 30! Minutes You see staff walking around. Not willing to help there customers out I was almost deciding to close my account there and go to bank that will help there customers out a lot better. I’m definitely not going back there at ALL. A person look at the reviews and you see that there customer service is not the best at all you think they would change but the haven’t. Maybe a call to the head office about how they are to the customers. With the staff walking around they would offer some water for such a long wait and some seats or something instead walking by like we don’t matter. I have had shorter wait times at a walk in clinic around flu season. But at least they recognize you there and offer you water also a seat

Everytime I go at this branch, there is line up and only 2 tellers working to help customers. Which is such a waste of time for everyone. They should have more customer representatives to help their customers during the weekdays atleast

There was a time when ATB valued the customer and offered the best customer service. Sadly that value was eliminated over the last few years (indicative of current leadership at ATB head office??) Now there is no customer service. Yes, there is the occasional person who still is professional and cares about the customer but they are getting rarer at ATB. It is almost impossible to reach a real person by phone in a branch. (I know as I tried all day long for two days with six different branches. No success.) ATB has closed down branches making it very difficult to get to a branch in person during day time working hours if one does not work downtown in the city.Sadly after 40 years as a loyal customer I am moving all of my holdings to another bank that still values customers and believes in providing service. That other bank has a policy of answering every call with a real person -- no automated menu, no bumping to a call center after being on hold for 40 minutes then being told the call centre can't do what I need to do. I am done with ATB. I have already moved half my holdings to Canadian Western Bank and am in the process of moving the remaining.Very sad to see what became of a once proud and honourable business. Think twice if you are considering banking with ATB. You will not be valued as a customer.

I didn't knew its Crown Corporation (Government Owned) no wonder staffs have no idea about customer service and one of the rudest I experienced in banking. Will close my business account and move to another bank.

I'm not sure why their reviews are low. That hasn't been my experience with them. I've dealt with 3 of their associates as I've tried to meet some very detailed and tedious requirements in the process of obtaining financing for a mortgage. They've all gone out of their way to be very helpful (moreso than I've found to be the case with other banks).

They don't seem to be good community citizens. Parking lot is in disrepair with the majority of thier parking signage and stall markers damaged and unrepaired for years. Does not feel very nice to visit
