City Optical

I have been dealing with City Optical for many years and am always amazed by the wonderful service. This time was no different. I needed to order contact lenses but had some issues with my prescription. The workers took their time to make sure I received the right lenses that would work with my sensitive eyes. I highly recommend this location. Keep up the amazing work!! I will be using them in the future for sure.

Mogry made me feel more like a friend rather than a customer. Their website says to make an appointment, but I walked in on a Saturday and was served right away. Thank you Mogry for your amazing customer service skill. I will definitely return to this location for my future eyewear.

I recieved my new glasses and I'm elated with my new found vision. My vision alone has keep me from doing a lot of the things I would normally do with no problem, for over 5 years. The personell at the main counter were so accommodating. Thanks Guys(front counter), separate from Optometrist! The only reason I gave 4 star, sorry, can't be rude.

*Just A Heads Up to Make Your Visit Smoother*The optometrist (Eye Doctor) is independent from City Optical. If you receive your paper prescription from him, bring it in with you when you go to pick out your glasses. City Optical will not be able to give you a copy if the optometrist is not there. I doubt he would even give you a copy to be completely honest.They do not keep it in a file.If you are on OW, you will need your eye glasses voucher at the time of picking out your glasses. They will not let you pick it out without your prescription and voucher.The front desk is very unprofessional, like to rush customers out and overall very rude. If you need a proper explanation, good luck! To save yourself a headache, make sure you know exactly what you need to get done and what you need for it.One last tip to save your time, money, and energy. I recommend checking out Clearly Contacts" ; they have both glasses and contacts. They have very affordable options and a wide price range

Don't recommend. The cheapest eyewear is garbage. To upgrade to decent glasses they charge you a lot. Better off at Costco for sure. Won't be coming back.

My family have been buying eyeglasses from this place for over 9 years. Even though their collection is not as big as the other fancy retailers, we always find good frames for reasonable price. We never had any issues with their glasses. The staffs are very helpful as well.

I accompanied a relative to City Optical last year to purchase his glasses which he was receiving financial assistance due to his disability. Unfortunately, this location is not wheelchair accessible. I had to physically pull/carry the wheelchair up into the sidewalk and their doors were not wide, scratching up the wheels. Although it helps us financially, it's too difficult for him to access.

Ontario Works provides discount vouchers only to this seller. But here they have a set of out-fashioned frames with a green sticker only for this offer. All other good looking frames are being charged minimum extra $70. When it comes to lenses also seller told the voucher covers only for standard lens, or basic varifocal lenses which was way low than my existing medium standard lenses. Therefore I'm unable to use the provided pair because, they said it will cost another $400 to upgrade. Later I have changed it to a single far vision pair only. It was disappointed and wasted time. It would have been better if they informed me the coverage before making the glasses rather making a useless pair. And some staffs are not helping at all. I'm giving additional star for the staff who tried to help in my second visit.

This is the WORST place I have every dealt with. If you are on O.W. they will give you nothing but grief. They assign cheap, outdated frames to choose from and try to make you pay extra to get better quality frames. Since the frames are so cheap, they break easily and fit horribly. If they should break, even if it has only been weeks of wear, they will tell you to go and get a new voucher and order a new pair. The government should not be funding a company that rips them off the way this place does. They are rude and dismissive. I have spoken to my worker many times and explained how they are unappreciative of the business they get from O.W. and that they should review their contract. There are so many other optical stores in this city that I am sure would at least try to treat us with dignity and respect. They behave as if they are not being paid for their services and that we have no right to complain. SHAME ON THESE PEOPLE. Only gave a star because I had to in order to post this message.

Zero star is all this place is worth.Made a telephone inquiry over the phone on the behalf of my ailing aunt. Seems every customer to them is only a number. Without the number found on the receipt, they don't even try to make a little attempt searching by the last name. This just have to be the rudest customer service experience I have ever witnessed. Feeling so sorry for them for doing the job they loathe.
