I just had a very very bad experience! When I was looking around the store, the owner came and asked me to use shipping basket. Although I was looking for only one thing, of course I accepted what he said. BUT that’s not all, he also said by pointing at my IKEA shopping bag “Don’t put anything in your bag.”. I was very surprised and hurt because he thought that I’m gonna steal something. And I’m absolutely not. I’m so upset, because he obviously insulted me. He is a super rude person.Just let you know, the Japanese staff were very polite and helpful. They apologized for me instead of the owner! But I won’t forgive him ever! If you see him, you better tell him “I am not going to steal anything!”. I strongly hope the owner will change soon!

Great place to get Japanese snacks and instant noodles. So many varieties. Price is also cheaper than other places. Highly recommended.

I had a very good experience here. The products really are Japanese and the price is almost the same as in Japan so the experience is almost like buying from a store in Japan. The only downside is that there is almost no variety of the products, but I understand that it is nos possible to bring every product from Japan. I was actually looking for Melon soda, but only found Ramune (thet is kind of OK, but there are way better brands for Melon soda).I was also looking for dripping coffee, found one but I did not like it. It is a very good store, though.

Lots of Japanese foods including fermented Natto and Kimchi. Aisles are v. narrow with lots of shelving crammed into a small space. Also an upstairs market with more.

Good selection of items including smaller bags of rice so you can sample brands in advance of buying a giant bag. It is also nice that it is open till 8. Super convenient that it is located above Kim's Mart with all the fresh veggies and meat.

Better pricing than any Japanese supermarket in Richmond. Well worth the time to drive there.

Great selection, and low prices on Japanese imported products, but pay close attention to expiry /best before dates when shopping.

Well stocked with pantry items, but it's not that big. I mostly go here for tea and sauces. Decent prices, better than the big chain stores.

Echoing the other reviews here – i found the prices very reasonable. You'd probably find the best prices for the same product here compared the other stores in Vancouver. In terms of Japanese specialty food store, they're probably one of the biggest I've been to in this area. They have frozen and shelf-stable products and a few household cleaning products as well. I didn't see any cooked food, sashimi or sushi though. Location is relatively easy to get to on foot or transit. Didn't see parking, but I guess you could always just find street parking. You have to go up a short flight of stairs, lined with old greenish, mouldy carpet. It would normally sketch me out, but there are enough welcoming posters to reassure me. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The prices are great here if you are looking for Japanese food products especially but you can't always find the brand you are looking for but I guess it's like that for all stores during this challenging times so that's why they still deserve a 5, staffs are also so kind and helpful.
