My husband and daughter were beyond ecstatic to find this little gem. My husband is Lebanese and was able to get all his favorites with the kindest and most amazing service. 7 spices, shawarma spices, olives, lebne, cheeses and dates to name a few. We will be regulars here for sure!!

Very kind and owner. I have great chats with him. Delicious foods. Our go-to for olives. I'm adding this today (our usual weekly visit) lamb and also chicken samosas are AMAZING.

Matteas is a gem. He keeps a tidy store full of a spectacular selection. He is warm and charming. He deals in quality items, and you definitely get what you pay for. Do not miss out on his pistachio baklava!

I have really missed this wonderful store. I used to shop in the Victoria location. So happy to find it in Nanaimo. Matteo made a custom spice blend for our daughters wedding feast. Guests still haven't stopped raving about it.

Went there for the first time today, very impressed at the large selection of items! So many things I haven't seen before in Nanaimo, I'm excited to go back in the future and explore even more.I found some wonderful tinned seafood and also tried a butter chicken wrap which is very tasty.

Such exceptional and warm service, broad selection of Mediterranean goods that you can't find elsewhere (especially olives!) and the homemade baklava, spanakopita, tzatziki, and hummus are outstanding. Highly recommend.

My wife and I went here for the first time and were respectfully greeted at the door by the man behind the counter. After purchasing the lamb samosa which he cheekily referred to as the hamburger equivalent of MB mart. Afterward he recommended what we should do with some of the other ingredients that I had never seen or cooked with before. There are quality items in here that you will not find anywhere else in Nanaimo guaranteed. Next time I purchase a gift for someone I am going to buy one of the prearranged olive oil pack here. Also they have the best hummus and olives in town.

Updated…This is such a great place to get hard to find authentic Mediterranean products; olives, samosa, tzatziki, baklava, Turkish delight, olive oil, coffee, teas…so much more.The owner is welcoming, friendly, and helpful.We even do our Christmas shopping here for those specialty items to include in the parcels we send to away-friends and family.It’s been 3 years since my last review and I STILL highly recommend this place.3 Years ago:Wonderful!It’s a great new restaurant-bakery-grocery store featuring “Mediterranean” food, baked goods, snacks, and coffee.We were treated warmly upon entering with the owner offering us each a piece of authentic Turkish Delight. I promptly bought more to send out as Christmas gifts. There’s so much here on offer in this tiny space that is very nicely decorated in Middle Eastern decor.I highly recommend this place. We will return often.

The fresh hummus, dolmades, and pistachio baklava we had were fantastic, and the olive bar was excellent. Fresh food 5/5However, the dried fava beans and brown lentils I purchased both took forever to cook, indicating they had probably been sitting on the shelf for quite a while. Another problem is the lack of price tags on many items. Dried foods 2.5/5If we return, we'll stick with his freshly prepared foods, even though they are on the spendy side. Prices are 3.5/5

So much to choose from. Zatar from Palestine is one of my faves and I love the olive oil selection too. The owner Matteo makes it an enjoyable and informative visit!
