The Jasper Planetarium & dark sky telescope tours

This is such a cool place to visit. We had a daytime combo session and also the telescope session at night. Both were amazing. Chris and the technical team were very knowledgeable and friendly. Kathleen and the guest relations team made our visit extra extra special for my husband’s birthday. This experience will stay with us for a very very long time. Although we are thousands of kilometers away, we want to come and visit again.

With our numerous Jasper trips since I have family here, we decided to attend the indoor experience at the Jasper Planetarium. We weren’t disappointed! Sophie was an excellent guide with her knowledge and expertise in the field of all things space. We will have to come back to enjoy the other offers the planetarium has!

This place was amazing! We ended up being late and they were still able to help us. One of the staff took our little boy aside and talked to him about astronauts and other space stuff so my wife and I could enjoy more of the tour without interruption.On top of all that, it was very informative about the solar system, the northern lights, and the universe.Highly recommend! Thank you to Georgina, Jerry, Miguel, Kayleen, and manager Peter for being so awesome and amazing!!

We went last week (sunset is around 10:30). The first night we reserved, there were thick clouds so we weren't able to see anything but they still presented you with a lot of useful information. We asked if we could come back the following night. So the following night the sky was a little more clear and Shane showed us a couple of things. Everyone was really nice and helpful and knowledgeable. Shane answered a lot of my questions, was very patient and accommodating. The weather is unpredictable, but I'd still recommend everyone to give it a try when they are in Jasper!

Great value for those who love the night sky, space, etc. The staff had great energy, particularly Georgina, Miguel, and 'Ben' (not sure if I heard his name right, he handled the video telescope). I would love to do this tour again at a different time to take in other constallations/ views that were not visible during this time. Very passionate staff which makes the tour exciting throughout.

This was really fun. Some very nice telescopes and knowledgeable guides. The kids loved the interactive displays and looking at various stars and clusters. It is quite light out in the summer so you have to stay up pretty late for it to get really dark.

Wow!!!Rustic, informative, genuinely perfect for the group of us that went.Dress warmly (recommend a lap quilt for the dome), pick a clear night, and try to find that childlike wonder inside of you.We saw beautiful constellations, nebulas, and an excellent display of Northern Lights.We had an absolutely fantastic time. If you aren't driving or staying at Fairmont, it is a 26$ cab ride one way from downtown. So best to go with a group !

Our family enjoyed this experience very much! Thank you! We found the presentation by Sophie in the dome very interesting, knowledgeable and well spoken. A big shout out to Sophie and also to the knowledgeable staff that made this such a wonderful night. I liked it so much that I bought a t-shirt and I will certainly be gazing up at the sky much more in the future! Many thanks!

A very cool and informative experience! Even though it was cloudy, we had a very full interactive tour. The 2-year rain check policy is very much appreciated. We will definitely take advantage of it! Fun for all ages!

Attended a 11pm time slot for the Jasper Planetarium and it was an absolutely great experience. My partner and I have always wanted to look up at the night sky and see many stars but with the light pollution in Toronto its very difficult.All of the team members, Sophie, Shane, Katrina, Kaitlyn, Miguel and everyone else working at the planetarium are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They are also curious about the night sky like all of us. I would highly recommend if you are looking for amazing shots of the moon, Vega star, even the rainbow donut - to go on a clear nights sky and take in all of the amazing shots of our little twinkle neighbours.
