Fortinos Hamilton Dundurn

Produce is great. People at the meat and fish counters are informative. Checkout folks are friendly. But the music! Go for the awesome music. 4 out of 5 times I’m bobbing my head or actually dancing.

It's an overpriced grocery store with lots of little amenities.The staff are lovely and everything is usually fresh and yummy.The ladies in hot foods are awesome. Treat them right!

Always double check the bread / bun bags before purchase. Twice now I've gotten home and discovered a mouse has chewed through the bag and eaten some of the buns. The latest time I returned the bag to the store, the customer service rep was more concerned that the replacement bag of buns I chose didn't cost more than the original (I had picked the last one of its kind the first time), to make sure I didn't owe them 20 cents or something.

I’ve been shopping this store for 25 years. Both my wife and I love the people that work there, and are on a first name basis with many of them. Unfortunately as of late, I’ve started seeing dogs there. Mostly little ones, but none of them service dogs… disclaimer, we have no kids and LOVE our 3 large dogs. I would NEVER think of bringing any of them to a place of food production/preparation though?!When I asked the managing staff what criteria needs to be met to bring what’s clearly a pit I’ll into the store they referred me to their hired hourly ‘security’ staff member that was probably 22 years old, and scattered….Please Dundurn fortinos management. PLEASE! Have the nerve to say something?! Please? I’m gonna have a hard time continuing to buy fresh food I’m this store from here on out

Great place, friendly staff and they keep it clean. Had some great deals too.Typical grocery store but I do like the atmosphere and shop often here.

Went to Fortinos around 8:00am as they're the only place that sells beer before 10:00am. It's beautiful, especially for those who work the night shift.

This location always have fresh and pretty flowers. My choice for flower shopping for any occasion is this Fortinos. The ladies in the flower house are very nice and explain patiently how to take care of plants.

Pretty alright Fortinos. Produce selection is amazing, you can tell they trim and clean the veggies before putting them out, compared to Walmart the price for the quality of the procedure isn't bad at all. Salad bar is full of excellent options too. Fortinos self checkout is the best there is, it's not clunky at all, super easy to scan, pay, and be done.A few caveats though, firstly, it's small, there's no Pizza or Joe Fresh, and bulk is tiny, other stores it's a whole area. The parking lot is awful, for the whole plaza, crazies and druggies like to stay near the sign off Main Street. And as with all Fortinos, some stuff on the shelves is pricey compared to say, Walmart or Food Basics, though the stocks are far better stocked at Fortinos.Not deal breakers, but not a 5 star location, my recommendation is to buy produce and Loblaws/PC products, maybe bakery or meat, then go to another, cheaper grocery store for products off the shelf or meat. Overall I still recommend shopping here.

Over all the store is great; the staff are friendly and helpful, the store is clean and well stocked. But the snow clearing (or lack thereof) is an absolute disaster. The parking lot is incredibly difficult to navigate with or without a shopping cart. Lakes of dirty slush water, giant icebergs blocking the cart returns, and all the curb cuts between the store's walkway and the lot have piles of snow in front of them. I had to alternate between pushing the cart and dragging it by the front, and even then it was very difficult.I assume it's the plaza ownership that procures the snow clearing contract, which is why I'm still giving 4 stars on this review. But all tenants of the plaza, especially Fortinos, should really push their landlord/management company for better snow clearing. The plaza is mainly parking lot compared to indoor retail space. Don't cheap out on landscaping or people will never make it in to the retail businesses.
