Peterborough Optometric was able to see my right away after experiencing an eye injury out of province. Everyone was so amazing and made my first experience great!

Hi, I just finished making appointments for my mom and myself for our annual checkups. Joanne always remembers our names and is efficient and professional. It’s refreshing to have someone so service oriented. Thanks for always being so cheerful and helpful!

Came here a couple years ago for an eye exam and purchase some new glasses. It was pricey but the experience was very respectable and professional. When I received my glasses however, the prescription was very off.When I tried to have the issue fixed, I was met with a lot of resistance and was told I would have to fully pay for a new inspection.After fighting some more I was able to get a free inspection and a new set of glasses to try. The prescription was still off and since insurance covered most of it, I just cut my losses and moved on.Dr. Hoya was not patient or kind when met with a problem. I realize I should have left this review sooner, but save your money and go elsewhere.

Excellent service, if a little pricey. My first few pairs of lenses didn't quite work out, the people here were eager to get it right and kept ordering new sets until they were perfect. Dr Hoya is great. Thanks to them!

Called to make an appointment told them i was on ODSP. Apparently OHIP pays such a small portion they feel the need to charge almost 150 dollars for just the eye exam little crazy when most places are much cheaper kinda makes me feel like they say that just to steer clear of people that use OHIP for coverage pretty disgraceful

Been a patient here for well over a decade. Glasses and other eye care here have gone up substantially since the renovation. Be aware anything purchased here can be obtained elsewhere for 25-30% less. They claim price matching, however aren't able to match pricing from the competition. Even with great insurance, our family was often paying $150+ out of pocket for frames and lenses per family member.Not to mention everything is appointment only. Need your expensive frames adjusted...book an appointment and wait.

We came in for my son Gus's first eye appointment! They were so amazing with my son and he felt so grownup and had a blast. Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable! We received the Patient of the week" mail

Clearly, a cut above in every way from any opticle centre I’ve ever visited - staff is exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and helpful - a rare thing theses days…my eye examination was extremely thorough, the selection of frames was very good as was the assistance I experienced in my selection.They may not be the cheapest in town…but there is a variety of options at different price points and they price match with Costco and Loblaw’s…They are also founding members of Green Economy Peterborough - as is the Peterborough Golf and Country Club…which is why I decided to give them a try…I’m very glad I did…

I could not have been more impressed with my recent experience at this clinic. I am a new client although my wife has been a very satisfied patient here for many years. I had been to the clinic a few times prior to experiencing an urgent problem. I was given a very prompt appointment when I experienced a sudden vision reduction in one eye. Dr. Hoya and his staff performed thorough tests and found the issue quickly. I had fluid buildup on the retina. I was reassured by the prompt and certain diagnosis, as well as the prognosis. The entire staff were wonderful. But what really stood out as exceptional was that Dr. Hoya consulted with another specialist later in the evening, after the clinic was closed. He phoned me at home that evening to tell me that they had both agreed with his findings and that I did not need to attend the scheduled appointment with the other doctor the following day. This was extremely helpful as it meant that I did not need to book time off work during a crucial stage of a work project.To have a doctor taking this amount of time after hours to help me was incredible. I would never have expected service like this. It is more than obvious to me that Dr. Hoya and his staff consider the patient to be the first priority. After this experience, I would not trust my eyes to anyone else.David McNabUpdate: On a follow up visit to this centre, I received excellent cared again. They took the time to thoroughly test my eyes and explain the results. I was given reassurance that things had improved. I was greatly impressed with the amount of time I was provided and the information given. All of the staff that I dealt with were top notch.

Very sad about the new $140+ mandatory fee. Not compassionate to low income or people with disabilities ODSP..who live 35% below the poverty line.
