If you are sick it’s best not to use Spectrum Health. Go to the hospital and avoid the secretary not answering phone call or hanging up on you. Poor service

Spectrum health is excellent! I have been having a great experience with them. Staff is very helpful and organized. Dr Anderson is stellar! Very pro active in trying to help you. I was used to always having to advocate for myself and was the first in time in a long time that a doctor listened and worked on a plan with me.

I have been going to Spectrum health for over 15 years now . Words cannot express the amazing team of health care professionals that they have there . My doctor - Dr. J . DeWett hands down is the most amazing doctor with a beautiful soul . Like him all the doctors and staff at the clinic are genuinely so kind , so compassionate, they show genuine care and love for all their patients. This clinic does not get enough recognition for the amazing work that they do on a daily basis . Thank you for all that you do ! The care and support that you have provided to myself and to others does not go unnoticed. Your team and the service that your provide is par excellence! Kudos to all of you and god bless you for the amazing work you do .

Not one to leave reviews, but after around 4 years with Spectrum Health the negatives far outweigh the positives. Will be leaving out names for the negative part for anonymity/privacy purposes...don't want to cause any hate just making people aware of what they're getting into here. Two doctors in particular (both my main doctor and their fill in doctor...because my main doctor is never there) become defensive, dismissive, and rude when you try to ask questions regarding your diagnoses/health concerns/how things work. When they feel that you are asking too many questions or you ask something that they aren't sure about, this is when the behavior starts, and I end up leaving appointments stressed out. I understand that the healthcare system is strained right now and times are tough, but this kind of behavior happening so frequently makes it more and more difficult to sympathize, especially when you aren't extremely familiar with the healthcare system in Canada and all you are trying to do is gather information. There have also been instances where my doctor has told me there is nothing we can do about this" or "you're fine"

I have been in the care of this clinic for 7 years now and I do not have even one complaint. I have always been treated with respect and professionalism. The staff are excellent as far as I am concerned.

I've been with them since it opened and I can't get to see my own doctor. I see a series of locums who never read your file and its frustrating. I have PTSD and am forced to explain my trauma every time. The last Doctor I saw there was rude and confrontational. I asked him if he new my name, no did he read my file, no did he know why I was there, again no. He responded with EMR is down. Thats the system they use to go in your medical file. I was suprised because I work out of a clinic and have the system on my phone for work. Just so happens that that morning I was called by a coworker and asked about some information on a clients file. I was in EMR 20 minutes before I walked in the door of the office. I said you realy didn't read my file because you'd know I use the system and it was fine 20 minutes ago when I was in it. He responded with, look at the time we have waisted arguing. Full stop I'm not arguing, I never raised my voice or was at all agressive so don't say I was because then ill argue . He proceeded to be rude treated me like I had issues, I did he didn't know who I was or why I was there. He ruddy said what do you want told him he wrote a script and as I was dressing walked out of the office my paper work hitting the floor as I was trying to get dressed. Worst thing he left the door opened as I was trying to put my clothes back on.My GP is amazing, kind, caring but not there enough for me to see regularly. DR Gross is probably the best doctor I've ever had. I'm looking at a walk in clinic with 5 to 7 doctors. Then after a year they should all know my file and thats important to me. I am 65 getting sick and I can't get the help I need at specrmtrum. I will never recommend this clinic and reception is just cruel and mean.

It’s been a long time since I’ve reviewed Spectrum Health, but I figured it was time for an updated review. All of the physicians at Spectrum are exceptionally professional & attentive to their patient’s concerns & needs. As a patient of Dr. Malcolm Hedgcock’s for years, I am so entirely grateful to his dedication to my care. The nursing staff are friendly, professional and very supportive & know their stuff. Nurse Emma & Nurse Jennifer are stand-outs for me on this staff. The front desk staff & office staff are always kind, always professional and very caring. Thanks Spectrum!

Knowledgeable Drs, Nurses and support staff. Only drawback because of funding and size of clinic that doesn’t leave you with a feeling of personal medical help.No fault of Spectrum or Dr/nurse/ employees - just badly understaffed for the population served

The quality of service has degraded significantly over the time. If I cannot book an appointment to see my GP in reasonable timeframe and if I am always redirected to a NP to avoid 4-6 weeks waiting time, then what is the point of having a GP?

I have been a patient of Spectrum Health for many years, and I have always had a positive experience. My primary doctor is Tinus Wasserfall, but I have also seen Dr. Hedgcock and Dr. Gross for urgent care during Dr. Wasserfall's absence. All have been wonderful. I have also had great experiences with NP Bonnie and RN's Jennifer and Emma. A lot of the reviews here talk about a negative experience with the reception staff. I guess I've been lucky because I've never experienced that. Overall, I am very happy to be a patient of a practice with a focus on gay men's health. I feel safe discussing all aspects of my life and health concerns there.
