Couldn’t speak for their work but if it is as rushed as their driving then I would expect it isn’t all that great. Their truck plate 95531-MK just blew through a stop sign in the middle of Ithaca without even slowing. Then cut a car off changing lanes without signaling. Then almost immediately switched lanes again because traffic clearly wasn’t going their pace, and again without signaling and cutting off a vehicle. I wouldn’t hire this lot on principle alone.

The Ithaca Energy Tec team have been absolutely fantastic as we have been remodeling a house that had major problems. From the beginning, they have clearly explained each problem and outlined the best and most cost-effective solution, including re-using whatever materials are still in good condition and having me do some easy stuff myself. Unlike with other contractors, I have always felt that the Energy Tec team is doing top-quality work at very reasonable prices! They are insulation experts across the board, and at the same time, they are easily able to help with related issues (such as putting in a beautiful new floor to replace one we had to tear up in order to insulate beneath it where there is no crawl-space access). I would highly recommend Energy Tec for all your energy-related needs in the greater Ithaca area, whether that is sealing your crawlspace, walls, or attic, or replacing old, leaky roofs!

They installed an ERV system in my place. Also had them do a blower door test a couple years ago. Very professional and got everything done quickly and a pleasure to work with.

I also really appreciated your including pictures of the hard to reach areas, so I didn't have to crawl around and check things in person.

I wish I could tell you about the work Energy Tec did on my home, but it never happened. I had a energy audit with them that was difficult to schedule and required several callbacks. The audit itself was thorough and well-explained, and the people were professional. However, I never received a quote for the work they wanted to do afterward, and eventually they stopped returning my calls for follow-up. I'm not sure why they didn't want my business.
