JVR Computing

Long story short, I am a bonehead and ended up bending and losing pins on my processor. I attempted (poorly) to bend them back into place, but no matter what I did my computer wouldn't post.Once I realized there were missing pins and it was beyond my ability to repair, I began to frantically search for computer repair shops near me (Barrie area).I contacted all of the companies whose names I've heard on the radio but none of them would take on the job.Then I came across JVR Computing, a name I admittedly have never heard before. When I phoned them up, I was greeted by Joshua, who was very friendly and very professional.After I explained my situation, he immediately said he was able to take on the job. He gave me a rough quote (without having seen the processor yet) and we arranged a time to meet up in the Barrie area.Upon inspection of the CPU he said that it should be a simple fix and one, maybe two pins needed to be replaced. He then reconfirmed the quote range, the same he had given over the phone. He said it would be 1-3 days for repair time, more than reasonable in my eyes.To my surprise I received a phone call the next day, he informed me the work had been completed, however more pins needed to be replaced than originally thought. He did however keep to his quote, I would have totally understood if it went over the estimated quote.Joshua was so kind that he even offered for me to bring my motherboard over so he could install it for me. I didn't take him up on the offer but appreciated it nonetheless.He stated he had tested the CPU and it was running perfectly.Once I got the CPU home I was able to install it and confirmed that it was indeed working just like new.TLDR;Joshua and JVR Computing really saved my butt and I would have no problem recommending them to anyone for any computer related needs. I know I'll be back if I have any mishaps in the future.Really great service!

Joshua has worked on my computers on several occasions. He is courteous, professional & persistent in getting to the solution. He is also considerate & fair about the price, discussing the options first. JVR is the only computer tech in my phone contact list.

Joshua gave me fantastic fast service. Last year I bought a lower-end laptop as a backup to my desktop. I rarely used it, but I did it ran very, very slow. I figured the 8MB RAM wasn't enough and contacted Joshua about increasing it. He explained that probably wouldn't be worth the cost and effort, then remotely checked my machine and found that OneDrive was really slowing it by taking so much memory. He remotely disabled OneDrive and the machine's been working well ever since. The original email I sent through his website was answered with a phone call that day and a telephone consult took just a few minutes to address the problem.
