THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE VANCOUVER BRANCH LOCATED AT 805 WEST PENDER.I had the same very poor customer service when I called their 1-800 customer service line, which seems to be a running theme within these reviews. HOWEVER - when I went to the branch in person, I had the complete opposite experience. I found their service to be attentive, friendly and quick. In fact, I had the teller and branch manager both trying to help me. As for the parking situation, I had the same parking issues (downtown Vancouver, go figure) but then found out that there was parking underground below the bank. Since it hadn't occurred to me to ask or notice, its hard to blame anyone else.

SECOND REVIEWI needed to get a bank draft, payment on my Master card and withdraw a couple thousand dollars for my trip back to Ottawa.They had it done in ten minutes. In Gatineau or Ottawa they would have questioned me through and through and it would have taken 3 times as long to get this done.Great job Vancouver!Thomas

I had decided to close my National Bank account and move on to another institution as I thought it was not a good fit for my requirements. But around 2 months ago your colleague, Farnaz Boroumandi, called me and convinced me to stay with National Bank. Now I have a few other National Bank services in my account.She contacted me shortly after my initial financial advisor inquiry and we had a good discussion about my needs. This was followed up and provided advice relating to my situation. A very good outcome, at a time when I really need good financial advice.

National Bank online brokerage seems to offer the best no-commission online brokerage rates. Both on buying and selling, including free ETFs. However, they are notoriously bad in opening an account. I just experienced how bad that process of opening an online account with National Bank can be. I had to re-apply because I chose to have a beneficiary and a trusted contact. DO NOT DO THIS!!!! No notice on the application that chosing this option causes endless ID verification problems. Then .... The local branch waits until the end of the day to return customer calls that they do not answer. Mickey Mouse!!!

The 1-888 numbers are useless. I waited 30 minutes to request a prepayment and final payment on my mortgage and was told I needed to book an appointment. The appointment was booked and the Vancouver office called me to find out what the appointment was for?? I go to the Vancouver branch where my appointment was booked, paid for parking and was told by the advisor there that this could have happened over the phone! My mortgage was deducted from my account on the next due date! I call the 1-888 number again (waited 55 minutes) to find out I need an appointment to discharge my mortgage. It has been on ongoing nightmare of conversations with advisors that don't know how to discharge my mortgage and refund my overpayment. None of the transactions are visible to me on my online NBC. Power this idea NBC....give me my money, give me a mortgage discharge and give me visibility to the transactions you are making.

The banking advisor there never reply my email in a considerably timely manner, and I have been advised by him that he never answers phone either. Since our first meeting till now, I only sent him three emails asking about the updates, he never got back to me ever. And have called the general line to this Vancouver branch as well, no return phone call either. Very much disrespectful to the customer! How do I know about my finance situation? Your advise is needed!

A big shout out to the entire team at Vancouver branch ,especially Rebecca Lee who helped me very patiently with my umpteen number of queries prior to the account opening.Being myself into banking, I had numerous questions, mostly the nitty gritty about the charges, balance requirement, interest rates, services offered etc and she handled all of them quite professionally. On my short branch visit she handled everything exceptionally well and efficiently. So far happy for my association with the bank and hoping it to be a long one!
