Moby Dick Inn

This place could use some major upgrading. Looked to be newly renovated but still, must be 100 years old. There is no air conditioning so and the rooms on the top floors are unbearably hot. Our room was spacious but lacking in quality. The bathroom was obviously never cleaned. Also the shrieking fire alarm at 2am didn't help. I would not stay here again.

Were supposed to stay here on Aug 8, 2022, however when we arrived I asked to see the room, which was a pass on the second floor, just a floor fan no AC, the elevator was out with no idea when it would be operational, husband has mobility issues and would be unable to do the stairs, when I explained the situation I was told that was the only room they had and were unable to accommodate, good luck finding another hotel in Prince Rupert. I was charged the full amount for the room even though we didn't stay there due to the elevator not working, nor did the staff know when it would be operational. We however did find a nice (way nicer) hotel for the night. Due to the lack of compassion on behalf of reception or even attempting to accommodate I would be very hard pressed to recommend this hotel. They also have street parking the hotel we ended up staying at had secure underground parking.

Was shown two room options, the first one was a standard with thick mold on the bathroom ceiling. They allowed us to upgrade for no additiinal cost.Breakfast was bland. The hashbrowns were stone cold and we asked to order something else, but the waitress just walked away. So we had to demand that dish be removed from the bill and ate somewhere else.

We stayed here for one night in August 2022, we had an early ferry the morning after and this is only a 10min drive from the terminal and walking distance to some restaurants so very practical. The room is spacious but didn’t feel very clean and it was crazy hot. There is no AC so when we arrived the window was open and a lot of flies were inside the room, there was a small noisy fan that wouldn’t chill the space at all. The staff is friendly.

We have been in 2 different rooms on 2 floors. Neither had ac. Water is very yellow. Sink barely drains. On 3rd floor couldn't use wifi for more than a couple minutes before it would stop working. For 150 a night you would expect more. Restaurant in the hotel wasn't letting guests in yet there were customers in Restaurant. We stay in hotels extremely often and would definitely never recommend.

From the Google reviews I read - I was a little scared. But Kayla (receptionist) was super nice. Super awesome at 2am in the morning. We came late from the ferry.Breakfast was good in the restaurant too :)Room was pretty nice

The only con to this hotel was the lack of air conditioning. But you only need AC in Rupert for like 2 weeks out of the summer so it's not the biggest deal. The room was comfy and clean, and had the best view of the inlet and sunset. Close to everything you could need, and a 10 minute drive from the ferry. Parking lot is well lit and covered so you dob'rlt get rained on, and they have really nice plants in the lobby.

A decent hotel, downtown, restaurant down stairs, parking, guest laundry. Friendly staff

Was concerned after reading the negative reviews but this was the only availability for the one night we were in Prince Rupert. This is an older establishment but was clean and comfortable. There is no AC nor screens but there is a fan and our third floor east facing room was pleasant. Some of the west facing rooms kept their doors open a facilitate cooling. We would stay again.
