This trip was a total disappointment. I determined that we paddled less than 20 km over 4 days. I normally do more on a day trip. The air mattresses provided were inadequate, and the guide’s attitude from the beginning was unprofessional and de-motivating. His words were hurtful in many cases. The broken promise of an individual tent was unacceptable under the COVID circumstances, especially since I was given no choice.Details in the response to Janet’s review are inaccurate.I give one star because there was plenty of food, I felt safe most of the time and did learn a couple of paddle techniques.I do not recommend this company. I sent an email following the trip and have not received a response.

I attended a five day Georgian Bay kayak tour with Wilderness Adventures.ca in August 2020. The food was excellent and I appreciated the experience itself. However, my guide was extremely patronizing and critical, an approach I found to be counterproductive. We were not permitted to make decisions for ourselves and had to obtain permission for everything. He made me feel very uncomfortable to the point that I spent five days walking on eggshells. He also used inappropriate language throughout the trip and has poor people skills, often times getting frustrated with us.This trip was supposed to be the highlight of my summer and it wasn’t. In fact, I had to book a second trip in September with a different outfitter to make up for this experience. If you choose to book a trip with Wilderness Adventures.ca my recommendation would be for you to get information in regards to who your guide is and how he/she operates and treats people.

It has taken me some time to write this review as I am a resilient and positive person and find it hard to write a negative comment. This was supposed to be a trip of special memories and a retirement gift for myself. It was unfortunately ruined by Paul and if you read other reviews about him they are correct. The positives are there too but overshadowed. The official" guide was very nice and efficient (Paul was along to observe him for certification purposes). You can't go wrong with Georgian Bay as a location. Stunning! The food was really good and you never went hungry. The kayaks and camping supplies were top notch. As guests and paying clients of this company we deserved some respect and courtesy. Honestly upon return to the harbor I couldn't get out of there fast enough"

Had a great 5 day kayaking trip to georgian bay. Great equipment, trip leader was kind, knowledgeable, very familiar with the area, great kayaking teacher and a nice and interesting person. Food was amazing. never thought I could eat so well on a kayaking trip.

We had a group of nine who did the 3 day Algonquin Canoeing adventure on the Canada day long weekend. This was a blast. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew the area very well. The trip, food, and equipment were very well organized and top notch. I would recommend this to anyone looking to try an outback canoeing trip.

I accidentally clicked to review the wrong company. I’m not sure how to back out of this review. I have not booked a tour with this company

I took a five day Georgian Bay kayaking trip from August 24 to 28, 2020 with Wilderness Adventures. When talking to friends about the trip, I tell them that I had “the guide from hell”. At the end of the second day, I was having difficulty positioning my hands to get out of the boat. The guide, Paul McCormick, grabbed my right hand and roughly shoved it down onto the boat. His voice was shaking with anger as he said, “I’ve showed you how to do this six times already.” I was frightened by his demeanour and behaviour and did not paddle with the group the next day. On the last day of the trip, as we prepared to paddle to an island before heading for home, I was so frightened that I started out in tears. Fortunately, the rhythm of paddling calmed me down and they cleared up quickly.Overall, I’m glad I went on the trip. I learned some kayaking skills, both from Paul and my fellow paddlers. However, the experience was not fun. Paul rarely made a comment without adding a criticism and I was in a state of anxiety most of the time. I recommend against taking a trip for which Paul McCormick is the guide.
