Strathcona Tender Loving Daycare

Our child has attended this daycare from age 1 and will stay until he is ready to start kindergarten in the fall. We have been very happy with the quality of the care here. When we have had minor concerns they've always been dealt with effectively. In particular, the staff are great. We've recommended STLDC to others.

My twins were in this daycare from 11 months to 5.5 years old. They loved it there! They moved through almost all the rooms in the daycare and had a lot of teachers over the years. They learned a lot from each teacher, and always had a great time at the daycare. They enjoyed the everyday outside time, when weather allowed. I also liked the fact that the food was cooked in the center, and my kids got used to eating a variety of foods. I knew my kids loved it there, when they did not want to go home at the end of the day. The staff was always approachable and easy to talk to. I wouldn't have kept them there for so long if my kids were not well taken care of.

Our son was in the center for 2 and a half years. We were very happy with the great care he received, we always got informed about his day, his progress or troubles and how we can work together. The teachers are all very loving and caring and support each child in their development. Our son loved his teacher and told us every day what they did like camping out in a tent inside their room. With pictures, written documentation parents newsletters and weekly updates we were always up to date.The food is amazing, always freshly prepared and we knew our son gets nutrisious food throughout the day and he just ate everything!Its a great place for little ones to grow.

This daycare is just AWESOME!The staff are very caring and the management is always attentive and professional.We're a vegan family and we're very pleased that they're not only accomodating when it comes to our daughter's food, but also proactive in offering alternatives for her.Highly recommended!

Unfortunately Google doesn't allow to give more than 5 stars for a review. We can't vouch enough for this establishment. Very rarely do you come across setups where their work reflects the values mentioned in their name. This place is as Loving as it gets.As a new immigrant, we couldn't have asked for a better place to take care of our child who was barely three when he joined the daycare. Sumer blossomed during the two years he spent there.I can't thank the staff enough for the innumerable times they went well beyond and above any stretch of imagination and expectations we had from them.We will always be indebted to the support, warmth and help we received from the management as well as the staff for taking care of our child.I am pretty sure that it wasn't just our child who teared up on the last day. So did I.We can't recommend them enough.Thank you for everything!

I was with this daycare since the beginning. I am sad to leave this daycare as I was there for 5 years. The food they feed my children is top notch and healthy. They are always outside and playing and any serious concerns are brought up in a reasonable matter. The staff are amazing and treat my children like their own. My experience with them overall is very happy. :)

My experience with Strathcona Tender Loving Daycare could not have been better. Staff are very knowledgeable and caring, you can see they love what they do and your kid happiness is the proof of that. Their program is very broad, including different activities (crafts, music, show and tell, pajama’s day, circle time …), field trips and always making sure that kids spend time outside (weather permitting). They have a cooker that provides them with a great variety of food, always following the Canadian food guidelines. That made my life way easier, so I knew my kid was always getting delicious and nutritious food and I did not have to pack anything. Their communication is very nice, they have a monthly newsletter that they send to parents and they also send you weekly updates and menu. They are very approachable and quick in resolving any issues that may arise. Yesterday, after almost 3 years in the center, it was time for my daughter to leave to start a new chapter, they grow up so fast. She cried so much, she said she would like to stay there forever. I would like to thank Strathcona Tender Loving Daycare for being part of my daughter’s life and help her to grow and become this special kid. The memories of her time there will be in her heart forever, along with the friends she created and we hope to keep for years to come. Thank you!

Our daughter has been attending this daycare for 6 months and we absolutely love this centre and the staff. You can tell that the staff are passionate about what they do and they truly care for the children. They are also very accommodating and extremely flexible. I would recommend this daycare to everyone. The food is great, they are constantly teaching the children, and they bring in outside educators to further develop the kiddos. Thank you to STLD team for treating my daughter so well! We love this daycare!

My daughter who is 1 years old was there for only one month she was well taken care of. The staff all worked together to make sure the children recieved the best care, such as chidren's programming, meal times, free play, gross motor and fine motor acivities. The staff allowed my daughter to attend part time.

We are so lucky to have had our children at STLDC. Our oldest was there for almost 4 years, and we just moved to a new daycare as he is starting kindergarten soon. The staff are INCREDIBLE, some of them were with my son almost every day for his entire tenure at the center. All the educators are so loving and caring and it is evident in how much our children loved going to daycare every day and how they lit up every time they saw one of their favourite teachers (they are all favourite teachers). They take care of a child's immediate day-to-day needs, but also focus on growth, education, and happiness. Both our children thrived at STLDC, our oldest is ready for kindergarten because the educators focused on preparing him and teaching him the classroom and practical skills he needs to succeed. We have so many wonderful memories of STLDC and we would recommend the centre to anyone looking for a loving and nurturing environment for their children to grow and thrive.
