It came back damaged.Mr Jones serviced my gold Vertex mechanical watch for £85. He’s been doing this for years and can probably do it in his sleep.If you have a vintage mechanical watch don’t take it anywhere else. I learned the hard way.

I cannot think of a better shop! We have bought numerous items from here in the past; clocks, watches etc. But the most special one was recently, my boyfriend and I got engaged, and we both got our rings from here. Mr Jones and his son could not of been more helpful, talking us through the different options, helping me pick one that was suitable for work, and then getting them perfectly resized for extremely reasonable prices. An absolute gem of a shop run by absolute gentlemen. Long may they remain.

I had previously taken a watch to a nearby shoe repair shop (who also said they did watch batteries, but obviously weren't very good at it) to have the battery changed. They couldn't get the back off but made a bit of a hash of the silver surfaces.I then took it to D L Jones and chatted to the charming owner who has been in the business since 1950! He said they would do their best to change the battery and buff the back. At 6.30pm that night I got a call to say that it was ready!All in all a brilliant service - the battery had been changed and the surfaces were back to new. Take some time to look around, it's a cornucopia of jewellery, watches, clocks and many other things.

Brilliant job repairing a much-loved Swiza clock which was my grandfather's retirement gift in 1979. As well as the repair, they made a part that had been missing for years and I was delighted to be able to hear the alarm for the first time since the 80s. Work done at distance (we live in the North East) with great communication and clear pricing. Fab. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal service. I went in with two rings needing repairing and resizing on Tuesday and they were both ready to collect by the Friday.Never before have I encountered a jeweller who turns things around so quickly and to such a high standard. They go above and beyond to ensure that you are satisfied with your purchase, and I will definitely be back!There was also a beautiful display of gold jewellery at a reasonable price.Highly recommend. Won't go anywhere else now for my jewellery needs.

Highly recommend. Extremely knowledgable, professional watch makers/ repairs.Had my watch not working for a few years. Decided to get it fixed. One watch repairer wanted £380 and a 4 week wait (wrong diagnosis).D L Jones did in less than a week for £145. Friendly, professional and good value!!!Called and kept me updated every step of the way.

Awful customer service, very rude staff that make you feel like your custom is an inconvenience. I went out of my way specifically to visit this shop hoping to purchase a chain for a custom pendant, I was abruptly told to hurry up" and that the man serving me didn't have all day. I wouldn't have minded so much if I'd been there longer but I'd only been looking for about a minute! Prices seemed steep too. Such a shame because I was keen to support a shop that's been there for as long as I can remember. Would give 0 stars if I could."

D L Jones & Sons is a lovely little family jewellers with good prices and a professional service. I had my engagement ring fitted with a pearl and the earrings I will wear for my wedding, cleaned. I had the time to wait for this service to be completed and once it was done not only the quality was great but the Price was very reasonable. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a beautiful range of affordable jewellery, watches, clocks etc. They have screens up and are clearly very covid secure. I'm very grateful to have my precious family heirlooms safely looked after and returned shiny clean.
