Staff makes a difference. Our servers was a wonderful and cheerful young lady. One can tell she likes her job. Very welcoming and warm. Our tempanyaki chef was a bit of a showman. He was impressing us with his flambe tricks and shaping food into a heart. Even wrote a Birthday greeting using sesame seeds. My friends and I had a wonderful time. The wagyu beef was good.

Food was absolutely delicious!!Service was great as well!!The only thing in my opinion that didn't work was the music in the background... didn't match the tone of the restaurant!

Servers were nice. Food was not bad. Show was ok. Price ok because I got Groupon deal for 4 with 20% off. Wouldn't pay more than that.Ps - sorry about some of the food pics. Didn't remember to take them until almost done. I also missed the 3 pieces of shrimps that everyone got.

Came on a light Sunday night with a groupon. I recommend not going on the busy Saturday or Friday nights - better service with fewer patrons! The food was served quickly and the tea was constantly topped up all night without asking. The food was good but not spectacular.

The $99 wagyu and foie gras set meal is amazing! The master's performance is also very exciting! It is very suitable for family and friends to have dinner together on weekends.

I bought a groupon for 2 for my sweetheart's Christmas present. We arrived early but the courteous staff seated us anyway and were quick to bring tea. The show did not start until the others, a family who also bought a groupon deal, showed up a short while later. The chef was smiley, polite and cooked the food with love at a comfortable pace. For me, the show tricks from this chef were somewhat simple, e.g., lots of flames, with less spinning and throwing compared to pricier hibachi that I had experienced in San Francisco. This was my partner's first time having a teppanyaki show and he loved it. The flavour and quality of the food is high, so we felt that overall the groupon was of good value. The shrimp, beef, onigiri and fried rice were standouts for me. Even the beansprouts were delicious and perfectly cooked. Yes, the food was a bit salty for my taste but it is subjective. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Ambiance was retro, moody and cozy. Yokohama is an excellent choice for a date night. We were quite full by the end, so we had to ask for a takeaway container. For dessert, we were offered coconut or mango ice cream. My partner had one and I had the other. Both were delicious. Overall, I think that Yokohama deserves a higher rating, e.g., 4.5 stars for the value. I was unable to select 4.5 when leaving this review, so I rounded up. You're welcome, Yokohama ;)

groupon offer discount and we try this 12 courses menu , but only beef, 3 small shrimps and a pc of fish. Tasty is just so and so, nothing worth to say, but staffs are friendly not just you pay less and give you a hard time ( this often happen in lot of Chinese restaurant ) .

Friendly Teppanyaki chef who knows how to have fun while cooking and entertaining us. The shrimp, fish, steak and fried rice were all cooked to perfection and i was genuinely blown away! The servers were very attentative, ensuring our food all came out on time. Finishing off with ice cream was a nice touch! I will definitely return next time I come back to Richmond.

Till I started eating sushi I had no idea what I was missing - I would say this must be in top 10 restaurant in Vancouver area - love the food taste of freshness - awesome client service....first time i have tried sea food here its simply the best of the best .....Teppanyaki of course that was also my first time ....master chef 26 years of experience Toyo was fun to watch what he does best ....don't hesitate a glass of wine with him. Can't wait to be back.
