Dundas Woodwindows & Specialties Inc

I've been using Dundas Woodwindows for decades now on my architectural projects at Andrew Marshall Designs. Now using them in my own home, I can finally experience the pleasure in my window purchase that my clients have had for years.

We wouldn’t order windows from Dundas again. If I had to guess, they took on too many new customers during the pandemic — us among them — and got overwhelmed. Regardless, there were a variety of delays at nearly every stage of the process (acceptable, given COVID), always new excuses for them (less so), and poor communication throughout (worst of all).One example of many: when the windows were installed, there was a handle missing for one, which meant we couldn’t open it, and the wrong bathroom window in a pair had been sandblasted for privacy. Hey, it happens. But it took weeks of regularly calling and emailing before we even got a visit booked to fix those issues, and a total of a month and a half before they actually were. As you can imagine, there was plenty more where that came from. Indeed, just about every step of the process felt like one we had to drag Dundas through to get anything resembling their help.The windows are nice, I’ll say. But all in all, not an experience I’d want to go through again, and not one I can recommend.

An outstanding family-owned business. We ordered new windows and also refurbished our stained glass windows as part of major reno. From start to finish, we worked with a team of people who truly care about their product and customer service. Nelson took our drawings and suggested excellent improvements for the windows. He helped us find an extra large french outswing door and stunning floor to ceiling casement window that many other window companies said could not be done. And in the midst of the pandemic with glass shortages, Dundas delivered as promised which allowed the rest of our reno to proceed on schedule. They also arranged for refurbed stained glass to be encased in new glass casement window, so they'll be permanently preserved. Dundas installation team was super efficient, neat and courteous. Everyone was super patient with us, and went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% happy. We would recommend them to anyone looking for new or replacement windows in future.

Whether it was their staff that did the delivery & installation or myself that did the pick up & install. Product was good and no need for service afterwards.Go look at/through their windows. : )

I purchased Anderson Doors (2 glass doors and 4 sliders) from Dundas Specialty Windows and Doors 10 years ago. I was selling my house and needed to get one of the 4 sliding glass doors fixed. It was stuck shut for over 7 years. Our contractor installed all of the doors, 6 in total. After 10 years the doors all had little issues. Marcio came to fix the door. Marcio is so fantastic. The service call cost $200 plus HST. Once he arrived we discussed the issue and he went to work. The locking mechanism was not put in correctly. He was able to get it open and then replaced the locking mechanism. Once he could see the issue, he checked all of the other doors and cottected the issues. All 6 doors had worked done and all 6 doors worked better after he left than they did when they were new. I wish I knew about there service as I had little problems with all of the doors. The contractor never relayed the commitment to customer service. While I sold my house, the coverage transfers to the new owner. If i need to replace any doors or windows I am definitely using Dundas.

Great experience with working with Nelson. Parking is a bit tricky especially with snow, but staff are great.

Got 5 Anderson windows installed by Dundas and I must say the experience was great and the windows look amazing. The staff were super friendly, very professional and helpful. The installer did a great job, I absolutely love the way they came out! I would highly recommend Dundas S. windows and doors!!

We purchased an Anderson front door with an opaque window from Dundas Wood Windows & Specialties Inc. and had it installed just at pre covid-19. The door is beautiful and over the years I‘ve received many complements. From sales to the installation it went smoothly. However, over time the door developed a very slight separation on one of the seams. I went to Dundas Wood Windows & Specialties Inc. and showed them pictures. They dispatched Marcio, who by the way is great and he assessed the door and agreed a slight separation had occurred. A new door was ordered and eventually delivered and installed by Marcio. After the door was installed, I noticed a slight imperfection in the glass, really minor. I expressed some disappointment to Marcio before he left and I said, “not to worry I love the door and the imperfection is hardly noticeable.” The other day Marcio and his assistant Hayden returned and replaced my door with a new one. I was surprised when Dundas Wood Windows & Specialties Inc. called and said they were coming with a new door. When I spoke with Marcio, he told me he shared with Nelson the president of Dundas Wood Windows & Specialties Inc. what had happened and my disappointment with the slight imperfection in the glass. Marcio thought the service had come to a conclusion since I was willing to live with the imperfection and he was unaware that Nelson would order a new door. When the president takes it upon himself to make sure a client is completely satisfied this speaks volumes about leadership, integrity and service from the top all the way down. Manufacturing defects, supply chain disruptions, installation problems all of these things can happen. But Dundas Wood Windows & Specialties Inc. showed this customer what it means to provide professional and excellent service. Thank -you Nelson, and your team!Regards,Gerry

I ordered patio doors and side windows for a client from Dundas Windows and Doors in the middle of the pandemic. In the challenging times, they were fantastic to deal with. And when things didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped, they rectified the situation brilliantly. They were professional, helpful and the patio doors and side windows are beautiful. Thank you.
