Sunrise Resort

Our trip started off with a blast. Raymond and his family (Resort owner) treated us with kindness and like we were family. The cabin was comfy, very clean and quaint. Nights consisted of fires around the campfire with fellow campers.mornings with a beautiful sunrise and friendly environment Like promised a family friendly environment I hope to rent again and highly recommend this resort. Truly sad to have to leave

My family has been coming here for years, but I just recently had my first visit!What a pristinely clean and arrestingly beautiful lake! Such a lovely relaxing rustic environment. Super close to provincial park, lock, LCBO. Stunning encounters with wildlife (bald eagle! Fighting a breeding pair of ospreys! Squeal!) and of course, gorgeous sunrises.Quiet respectful guests and visitors who are kind and generous with their conversation and supplies. A great place for kids.Phenomenal service and hospitality; a huge thank you to Raymond and Doris who took care of our raucous group the whole week. (I hope I’m allowed back Ray) lol!Thanks so much again. See you soon!

We stayed in this resort for 5 nights. Room condition is acceptable. Provided most stuff. Avoid picking cabins 1&2. They are close to boat launch and garbage collection.

The resort is good and so as the fishing and atmosphere however the owner of the resort have a mentally disturbed individual helping with Maintenance whom is very rude and obnoxious to the guest staying there.He went off on a rant while we were there threatening some of the guests with a baseball bat and the police was called for him.Alex the owner is a very nice person and was very apologetic about that fiasco.

Place was absolutely incredible due to its simplicity! Was soul healing to just unplug from the real world and enjoy nothing but the simple cabins and lake. Cabins were old and simple but extremely clean! the veiw and being so close to the water was nice. So many boats and water boards to choose from and fishing was awesome. Kids were never bored and had a park to play on aswell. But the most important thing i could mention is how it was ran. I want to give a huge thank you to ramen and luis (please forgive me if the spelling is wrong!) Hands down greatest people to bring your time too! Not only do they run a tight ship, they're genuinely good people! They treat the place and the people like its their home and they are extremely welcoming! Helping hands with real concern about your issues! Humbling experience!

another excellent visit this past weekend. 4 of us did a muskie trip at this resort. we had a great time. the owners were great . the accommodations we perfect for us fisherman. clean rooms,grounds well kept,docking was plentiful, every thing us guys who like to fish and sleep was there,we will be back every year.cheers keep it up.

Firstly I want to say thank you to Ray, he was very nice and willing to help with any of the questions we had. Also had some great conversations about fishing and techniques.What an amazing place, to stay at for either a weekend or a week. Great local spots to go fishing, soon as you walk out your cottage door you’re right next to the water so if you wanna do fishing off the dock you can. Or if you want to spend sometime on the water they have boat rentals, which you can either rent for an hour or for the day. Also I loved how do you only thing I had to worry about was bringing the food because they had all the plates and cutlery and anything else I need to cook my food. Which was fantastic, I usually go camping but this year I decided to rent a cottage very glad I did. Because I met a lot of lovely people, but also had a fantastic time. So I recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a weekend or a week this is the place to be. I will surely be back next year.

Lower Buckhorn is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place on earth. We have been regular guests at Sunrise Resort since I was a child, and have seen a number of owners during that time. Raymond is far-and-away the most courteous, generous, and kind. A real treat to meet Raymond and his family.The booking process was easy. Raymond was very quick to respond and answered all our questions. Even shuffled us around to make sure we got the cottage we wanted! Could not have been easier. Some other resorts in the area are not easy to get-in-touch with.We were warmly welcomed to the resort, got right into our cabin to unpack, and were relaxing within a half-hour. Raymond made sure there was a boat for us for the week, and that we had everything we needed. Check out and payment were efficent and quick. We paid exactly what was quoted - no hidden fees, no nonsense.Cabins are simple, clean, and well stocked with plates, cutlery, etc. If you are really into cooking, you may think about bringing your own cutting board/knives, or other specialty equipment. But save that, everything you need is there.Nice TV w/ plenty of channels if you want to catch the game, and decent WIFI considering the area are provided. Comfy beds and couches. It's exactly what you want to relax.Canoes and brand new kayaks are free to use for guests, boat rentals are available at some of the best prices in the area. Great fishing from the dock for bass and panfish. Perfect for the kids. Our daughter hauled in loads of fish!Cottages are on a quiet stretch of road with little traffic, perfect for restful sleep. Foodland grocery story is a 30 second drive or 5 minute walk, a Home Hardware and LCBO within walking distance provide literally everything you need from swim gear, to fishing, and clothing, etc.Resort is also a quick walk to the small town of Buckhorn where you will find a water-front bar/grill, an excellent ice cream place, and now even a tattoo parlour.Give Sunrise Resort a try-Christopher Jeremy Morrison

Raymond and his wife are so hospitable, they are always on hand to help with anythingThey are amazing!!!Cottages are clean and comfortable, the prices are great and it’s a great place to fish, I caught Bass and Perch 7 in total.What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a vacation.We will be back soon.
