Denninger's Foods of the World - Oakville

The location wasn’t as big as I had expected but it definitely offered some interesting culinary options. True to their moto - they offer foods from all over the world.It’s always fun to see foods from other countries.This store has everything from prepared meals, bakery, meats, cheeses, grocery stapes, and so much more.They have a small restaurant where they cook sausages and make sandwiches and burgers on demand. Someone ordered the sausage with sauerkraut ~ the smells coming from that grill were succulent!!!The lady who checked us out was friendly and efficient.Cute small shop.

Love the hot table for fresh made lunches... always have to go up and down the aisles. The made to order rouladine is top for entertaining.

Still lovely but smaller and less selection. While international foods are offered, this Denninger's location is smaller than the large one in Burlington; or for those of you who recall the older one that closed in Hamilton. The selection is still international to a degree, but you can realistically only fit so much into a smaller shop. The same German foods I ate growing up from the older stores are still mostly there, but perhaps given their smaller space they cycle different flavours of the stews or soups through. There was no frozen goulash sold, but they had rouladen gravy and borscht. The deli spread was quite decent but the desserts on offer were predominantly strudel, 2-3 flavoured dessert loaves, and boxes of various cookies and biscuits. If you want more of a dessert selection, the Burlington shop has a plethora of choices. But this wee store does well to keep a good variety of sweet and savoury international dishes and German flavours.

Love shopping at Denningers. Great food and good quality. Lots of varieties of things to choose from. Frozen ready-made foods, ready-made made food that are not frozen foods from around the world. I am also able to find bread that is wheat free instead of gluten free.

Smaller than other Denninger’s but still has all the staples they offer. The downtown location is very convenient as it offers a large variety of European food products from chocolates to cookies to cheeses and cold cuts. They also sell ready made foods, meat products, a full deli section and hot meals. On my way out I also noticed a gifts section with gift baskets and different hand curated items. The cheese selection is always impressive as well as the confectionery items on display. There is also a lot of parking and staff are as friendly as other locations I visited and eager to help. You can sample a lot of the deli products depending on what their specials are.

This smaller Denningers has everything you need. Their meats are magical. Virginia ham is the best. German meat salad is a craving of mine. Their cheeses are amazing. They have a huge variety of European frozen foods and dinners. Chocolate heaven too. Hot lunches are fabulous. A great little authentic European type store.

Always double check your bill: I got charged 8.99 for a can of soda and full price for a 1/2 price" takeout food. It was delicious though. Be extra careful and check the best before date - could easily get an expired product."

I've been shopping at Demon's be for over 40 years. It used to be the only place to get good German tasting foods and I still prefer their meats, sausages, breads and cheeses. They have a great selection of specialty European sweets, especially at Christmas and Easter. It's small but I always come home with ONLYwhat I need.
