Horrible experience. I filled in forms -especially “allergies to medications” and the FOCUS EYE CENTRE staff IGNORED them - handed me the prescriptions (eye drops) to be filled knowing “ standard substitutions” would be used without them writing - “no substitutions” for the pharmacist because of the list of medications I was allergic to which I had given them. YES I ENDED UP WITH ALLERGIC REACTIONS TO TWO OF THE MEDICATIONS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB!They have NON-medical people handing you the prescriptions AND THE TECHNICAL MEDICAL STAFF - DON’T LOOK AT THE MEDICATION INFORMATION ON YOUR FORM NOR DOES IT APPEAR THEY HAVE THE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO TELL ONE MEDICATION FROM ANOTHER.WHY DIDN'T THE DOCTORS/SURGEONS HAVE A LOOK AT THE FORM BEFORE THE PRESCRIPTIONS ARE HANDED OUT? Isn’t that their job?INCOMPETENCE? ADMIN STAFF DOING THE JOB THE DOCTOR SHOULD BE DOING?A PROCESS THAT PUTS THE PAPER WORK FIRST INSTEAD OF PATIENT INFORMATION, SAFETY AND SECURITY?WARNING-TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF - INSIST ON DEALING WITH THE DOCTORS NOT ADMIN STAFF.

After my first choice for my cataract surgery went horribley wrong l was sent to focus. I was scared as my eyes were getting very bad. My gosh everything went fantastic and the service and smiles wonderful. I now have my new lenes and l am adjusting well. Thank you thank you and thank you. I would highly recommend focus.

I had SBK eye surgery on one eye (mono vision) about a month ago and my vision is still blurry. My distance vision for skiing etc is excellent but close up not so much. Before the surgery I ask if I was able to work after the procedure and they said it would not be a problem after 24 to 48 hours. I mentioned that I am a self employed graphic designer and had to work on deadlines. For days after the SBK I could not look at my cell phone and I am still not able to look at the TV screen to watch movies. I was not able to work more than a few hours per day for weeks. Even writing this on my screen is exhausting for my eyes. I ask for a discount since I was not satisfied to which they responded that they don't do that. The surgery itself was fast and well done. The office is clean and the staff is great. I really hope my vision gets better in the coming months.

I could not have asked for a better experience at Focus Eye Center on Carling. My consultation was on a Monday and they booked my procedure in on the Thursday of that same week. The staff work so great together and are very organized. Everything just seems to flow perfectly.The day of my procedure I was quite nervous. I have had surgery on my eyes before and even hated going to my optometrist for eye exams. I will admit I did not like the procedure but I did not feel any pain. It was just uncomfortable knowing what was going on. It was quite neat to notice my vision changing during the procedure. After the procedure I did have discomfort but it only last a few hours. The next morning I was able to see everything! The first week I experienced dryness but it got better as the days went by. I still experience glowing around lights at night but the doctor reassured me that it is the last thing to come back to normal and can take up to 6 weeks! I highly recommend Focus Eye Center. Yes, it is pricy but worth every penny!!

Overall a really great experience. I had done my research prior to see which facilities gave the best laser eye surgery and I landed on Focus Eye Centre and The Ottawa Eye Institute. I am really glad I chose Focus because everything was very informative and their guarantee policy gives you a really good piece of mind going into it.The consultation was informative enough for me to make a decision, I never once felt pressured and throughout the entirety of my experience, Focus was there to ensure I felt comfortable and safe.On the day of the surgery everything was taken very slow as they understand the anxiety aspect as it is your eyes they are working on, the surgery took approximately 15 minutes and I have been able to see 20/20 vision ever since! I am extremely happy with the results and I recommend Focus Eye to anyone considering getting laser eye surgery done.

I started wearing glasses at 12 years old and couldn’t wait to wear contact lenses because I played sports and hated the feeling of my glasses sliding down my nose when I would sweat, or fog up from coming inside from a cold day. Contacts were my go to, and overtime they too became an inconvenience, drying out my eyes, the inconvenience of remembering to take them out and that awful feeling when one might just pop out! I always wanted laser eye surgery and this year I took the leap. With the help from the amazing staff at Focus they answered many of my questions, kindly and carefully. I had my consultation and met with various employees who eased any worry I had about the procedure. Leaving there I felt confident that this would be life changing. Most people get nervous for surgeries, I was excited. I couldn’t wait to literally see the results! The procedure was short, painless ,and the staff made the entire experience a positive one! The thorough care I received from start to finish was amazing. I woke up being able to see my alarm clock right away, and not needing to put glasses on to see my kids faces! This was life changing and I thank focus for helping me!

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW.....I have just had the cataract procedure done at the Focus Eye Centre. My vision is now clearer than it has been in decades. Colours are more vibrant. Printed words are much sharper. The staff at Focus Eye Centre are very understanding, helpful and professional. I highly recommend them.....

Well - I can see without glasses now, so I have no reason to not give them five stars!The main thing to know is that the procedure has risks. If there are complications that are outside the control of the staff or business, how can you rate them negatively? If you're not willing to accept the risk, consider other options. Of course that's easy to say since my procedure went fairly straightforward, but I certainly did my research beforehand to know the risks and possible complications.Everyone at Focus is generally friendly. There was one staff member who's room I passed through in one of the initial exams who was pretty unfriendly, but I guess everyone has bad days. A couple visits the appointment was a bit behind schedule, but I was also late for my last appointment and they accommodated - so I had no issues there.I had a couple confusing conversations with reception - receiving an appointment reminder for the wrong time, asking if I still wanted a paper copy of my bill sent (I never asked for one in the first place), but nothing serious.One thing I had to figure out myself is that many of the technicians / opticians don't really tell you anything about the post-procedure tests and exams unless you specifically ask. After the exams were finished for the first and second follow-ups I basically just got a great

I had an amazing experience at this place to correct my vision .I had to do PRK method I as I was not eligible for sbk technique !I did not find them to be pushy at all , after initial exam which I was provided with all the information (They made sure I am aware of all possible difficulties and risks) they gave me enough time to think and sign up !Unfortunately I had a hard recovery and my healing process took longer than usual , but I knew from beginning that every person can recover differently.But when it comes to these surgeries, its important to know you have a knowledgeable and supportive team to support you through the process.I found Dr. Ziai , Dr. Wings, Shalem and Marc very supportive and knowledgeable and available to me. Even non medical staff Catherine and admin stuff were very nice and caring to me. They left me with a very pleasant experience.They were always available for me and I had even have more than usual visits due to complexities I had and also they had to provide me with more medications during recovery ! All included as they promised . All I had to was be patient and trust the them and the process.The best decision I made in my life as now I can see very well and enjoy my life without glasses ! Thanks Focus eye.I recommend them to everyone who is looking to do vision correction.
