Hebridean Motel

We loved this little motel, and not just because the owners had a couple lovely kitties. The location is superb and there’s a great restaurant (The Clove Hitch) just steps away. The motel was very clean, with microwave & mini-fridge. It is an older building but the room was well maintained and we were comfortable, even if it was just for the night.

Good value for the price. The room was clean and they provided all the basics. The A/C was very cool and their attention was very welcoming. The mini fridge was a bit weak. There are a couple of wonderful beaches close-by and a bistro restaurant around the corner with a superb menu.

It was a quiet, clean and a great surprise. The views are beautiful and the motel is a place that I will return too , next year!Thank you for a great night. PS fantastic air conditioner!

We had an great stay at Hebridean motel. The place is nice, clean, and great location with great ocean view (see the photo). It was very nice from the management to leave a hand written birthday card for me inside the room.The host was friendly and accommodating, though we asked for late check in and arrived very late that day. The room was spacious, functional and had all the conveniences. The motel location is great, there is bar&bistro in the walking distance and it is very close from the beach. The motel is dog friendly and we were able to bring our puppy with us, for which we are very thankful and happy. We are planning be back in the Fall again.

Great place to stay. Small but functional and adequate room for a short stay. Basic but renovated room, nice bathroom. Very clean. Very friendly owner, Charlie. It was cold during our stay and the heating worked well. Comfortable beds, basic cable TV, however we couldn't connect our ChromeCast. Toiletries were provided and the towels were changed daily. The trash and recycling was also taken care of daily by the staff. Convenient location right off the highway. No major grocery stores, but there was a food co-op. Clove Hitch restaurant right next door, however we did not go.

Absolutely gorgeous location, a spot to lay your head in the beautiful beach capital of Cape Breton, homes are above and beyond for a economy motel, clean beds, so comfy, hot shower, fridge, microwave and TV!

Sorry, that’s no 4.2. No noise insulation whatsoever. You can hear neighbours or people talking outside late almost like if they were in your room. No kidding. And the Wi-Fi? I think my 9,600baud in the 90’s was doing better. I turned Wi-Fi off and my iPhone with 2 bars was 10 times faster. Looking back on that whole experience, I changed from 3 to 2 stars. Otherwise, clean bathroom and comfy bed. Let’s say 2.4 stars.

Good place to spend the night...clean, older rooms.. comfortable bed, and close to places to eat. Furniture maintained, but maybe time to update? Walls between units are thin"..but a good sleep was had.Hope everyone is safe as this was posted after Hurricane Fiona struck."
