Our favorite place for a hike during the fall. Beautiful fall foliage especially during mid October. Great place for mountain biking as well as there are many curated trail. Highly recommend to add this hike in your list when you are visiting the Durham region.

It is a great trail to walk and also for mountain biking. We went on the weekend to check out the trail so we can bring our bike next time. There are a lot a parking along the road. There are portable washrooms. The forest is big but you can take the length of walk you prefer. There are lot of signs along the trail. I found one good thing about this trail is the signs show clear direction. It is important to follow the signs as the trail is shared with hikers and mountain bikers. The trail is very shady, it is very comfortable, but I would suggest wear long pants or stay on the trail as there are poison ivy. There ate sign at the beginning of the trail. I like this trail very much.

Absolutely loved this park! There were a lot of cars when I first arrived, thought the trails were going to be very busy. I was very wrong! Didn’t bump into many people while on the Spruce trail. Trails are wide and you can keep your distance from other hikersThe trails are very well marked and they are family and dog friendly. Saw a few people riding their bikes or on their skis.Looking forward to returning

Durham Regional Forest is a beautiful forest that offers many recreational activities all which are free to use.We came here to hike in the winter and trails are snow covered which can be a little slippery in parts of the forest. Terrain is mixed as there are many different elevations that can be challenging to some. There are 4 main trails to choose from: Maple, White Pine, Spruce and Red Oak. All trails are well marked and easy to follow. Additional side trails offer other more narrow paths that are great for snowshoeing and biking adventurers. The parking area isn't a true lot as parking is basically parallel parking on both sides of the road on a one-way road. However, parking is free!

This is a nice trail of moderate challenge on a 10km loop. It's definitely not for first-time hikers. Apart from both the narrow and wide paths, you have to share with horses and lots of mountain bikers. Watch out for the roots and stems on the path. Mosquitoes and bugs are obvious, especially after rainy days. Parking is $6 and paid online. Toilets are also available on the parking lot. Anyway, it is a recommended track with a beautiful forest landscape.

Some of the best Mountain biking trails in Durham region, for all skill levels of riders. Well maintained by volunteers. Some have wood features that can be rode on or around. Lots of fun to be had!!

Having sold Real Estate for 3 decades in Durham Region being able to escape to Durham Forest is a godsend... the trails are well maintained, good for novice riders and ones more experienced and a good launch pad for Walker Woods, Brock Tract, Dagmar and Glen Major.

Took part of blue, orange and bike trails. The scenery of the bike trails was better. It was a relatively easy trail. There are multiple connected trails. Will come back to try different trails.
