Smith Veterinary Hospital

as a new pet owner, i strive to be as informed as possible so i can always make the best decision possible for the well-being of my kitten Babo....however, at the same time, i can recognize that the strong emotional bond pet-owners have w/ their pets can oftentimes be exploited when it comes to making decisions at the vet and hence, maintaining objectivity in the moment is extremely difficult if not impossible even knowing all of this....without going into the specifics (although I can if need be), in regards to my experience at Smith Vet hospital, let me first say that the receptionist staff was excellent and extremely welcoming and accommodating...i cannot say anything negative as my whole experience with both of them were very positive.....in regards to my time with the vet herself (i apologize as i cannot remember her name), as a whole, she seemed very concerned, knowledgable and sympathetic to how much I was genuinely concerned w/ my kitten Babo......I thought i was quite detailed as to what had occured up until that point and after having heard her suggestions, I did try to ask as many relevant and pertinent questions as possible so i can get a full understanding before making a decision on how to proceed...for the record, i FULLY 100% agreed to all the shots and examinations as well as the costs associated with them. I have 2 specific points of concern. In regards to the 3 shots that were administered (hydration, removing nausea, and encouraging appetite from what i remember), I recall that in the beginning, the vet directly told me that they were all short term solutions and that they would no way fix any problem altogether...at that time, i agreed to the hydration shot and we proceeded w/ the blood test - the blood test came back negative and she then suggested the other two shots - at that point in time, of course I am still very worried and looking for anything to make babo feel better and in my haste, after the last 2 shots again were suggested, because no direct issue could be identitifed after the blood test, i asked if those last 2 shots could potentitally fix the problem - she said yes....and in my ignorance, wanting to believe and do anything possible to make Babo feel better, then agreed......again, i fully agreeed to the last 2 shots but thinking back, i dont think i would have agreed if she reaffirmed that they were short term solutions....also to add onto this appointment, neither my previous vet nor this vet informed me that TYPICALLY AFTER VACCINATION/RABIES SHOTS for kittens, that the reaction my kitten was going through was normal and that i could simply just monitor him closely and that the likelihood is that he would get better after some much needed rest and time....instead, i was never informed this key piece of information and an additional $800+ in charges later (both this vet and the one previous), I virtually have no recourse and am $800 less out of pocket and with that exploited feeling I desperately wished to avoid....2/5 is a generous rating IMO and only that high because the reception staff was exceptional....thank you

I recently took my pets to Dr. Cox, and I couldn't be more appreciative of her professionalism and the level of care she provided. I would also like to thank the front desk associates, who make each of my visit as smooth as possible. They took the time to address my concerns and remain supportive throughout the course of my pets' treatment every time.Dr. Cox's professionalism was evident from the start. She took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and asked detailed questions about my pets' health history. She then performed a thorough examination and provided clear, concise explanations of her diagnosis and treatment recommendations.I really appreciated Dr. Cox's patient care. She was gentle and compassionate with my pets, taking the time to explain what she was doing at every step of the exam. She was also incredibly patient with me, answering all of my questions and providing me with plenty of information to help me care for my pets at home.Overall, I can't recommend Dr. Cox highly enough. I couldn't be more thankful for the care she and her team have provided.

I would highly recommend this clinic. My lovely friend coco got super sick and we chose this vet clinic to get diagnosis. Dr Cox was very nice and smart. She listened our concerns and diagnosed her correctly in a short time. She gave me and my husband update very clear and we were able to start right treatment. I am so thankful for receptionist as well. When I called her on Wednesday afternoon, she listened and booked Coco right away. Thank you so much. You guys gave Coco more time to be with us. Coco unfortunately passed away but we are very thankful for everything you guys have done to her.

It was our first time there with our 8 month old puppy. We were pleased by the warm caring atmosphere. Days after our visit, we recieved a greeting card to us and our pet with a hand written note from the vet... It was a nice touch!

I've been taking my dog to this vet clinic for 13 years and the quality of service never ceases to amaze me. The doctors are knowledgeable and truly care for their fluffy patients. Every year we get a birthday present which adds a nice personal touch. Couldn't ask for a better place for my furry friend. Highly recommend!

Absolutely adore this place! My usual vet was too busy to take my in dog Tofu last minute and this place did not hesitate to accommodate for us. I am more than grateful for the staff and doctors who work here. You can really tell that they are passionate about what they do, by far one of the best veterinary hospitals I have been to. The doctor was very professional and took the time to explain everything that was wrong with my dog and she ensured that I was fully aware of every procedure that she performed on my dog. I was upset due to my dogs condition but the doctor tried to comfort me, which I really appreciated. On top of that she is not pushy when it comes to giving solutions and tries to offer multiple options to best accommodate me and my pets needs. They are helpful with answering all my questions whenever I give them a call. They also provided me with additional after hour numbers and emergency numbers. I would say that the price is on the more expensive side, but the doctor was upfront about all the costs and I believe its worth every penny you pay. After my visit I recieved 2 follow up calls to ensure that my dog was doing well, which I really appreciated.Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a professional and compassionate place to take your pet. Would come back again!

I am always a little trepidatious when it comes to bringing my cat to the vet as I’ve had many bad experiences with past visits at other places. I can honestly say that Smith veterinary hospital goes above and beyond, and I have been extremely impressed with their service and quality of care to my pet. If you deal with a sensitive cat or any animal for that matter, you will not be disappointed.

Honestly, every single staff member is the greatest caregiver! We are particularly grateful for Dr. Waugh’s awesomeness. She provides the most thorough, reasonable, and continuous care and genuinely adores your fur baby like they are her own. We are lucky to have been referred to this vet hospital by a colleague years ago and we would never dream of going anywhere else. Thank you Smith Vet staff, for all you do!

Smith Veterinary Hospital saved our dog Ted's life when our previous clinic refused to see him on short notice. We are so grateful to both Dr. Dana Cox and Dr. Waugh for their top-notch care and expertise. Ted loves going there because he is treated so nicely by all of the staff members. We highly recommend this clinic!

It was a good place, just a family breakfast we ordered had 4 eggs scramble. I'm not sure if it had really 4 eggs or they use very small eggs. It seems to me 2-3 eggs.
