Sir Sam's Inn and Spa- Ontario's Cottage Country Adult Resort

Great service from all staff - special mention goes to Taylor(sp?) who was very helpful with our check in. The rooms were very clean. Would have liked the room to have been better lit and the surrounding area was not lit at all. It did make it somewhat cumbersome to get things from the parking lot to our rooms in near complete darkness.Amenities are nice. We didn’t try any of the paid services, but the pool area is great and the games room is surprisingly well stocked. The food was EXCEPTIONAL - expect to pay $$$, but easily some of the best food in the surrounding area.Honestly, minor nitpicks in an otherwise great experience.-Steve and Amy

Here is the truth. Sir Sam's Inn has one of the greatest cottage country locations you could imagine! Stunning views of Eagle Lake, outdoor pool, beach, dock and lakeside sitting spaces...indoor water spa lovely and the food is great! Love that they have a bar with pool table and of course a ski hill directly behind! This place has it all going for it...but...pandemic was obviously hard and they have not updated their rooms or interior spaces have not properly maintained their building and rooms so there is wear and tear...outdated bathtubs and funny little missteps. With that being said...we took no notice because the staff are exceptional, and we spent most of the time enjoying the amazing space outdoors!! This truly cannot be beat...small intimate adults only Inn on a gorgeous lake in our beloved Haliburton with a warm relaxing energy...if they do all the updates that may seem obvious...they could crank up the price and then how would people get to enjoy...so take it with a grain of salt and allow yourself to enjoy Sir Sams!

Lovely place. I call it rustic chic. We stayed in room 6. The food was amazing, I’m vegan, my partner is gluten free, the vegan gluten free carrot cake was divine! The staff is lovely. We had massages with Christine (RMT) and Sarah, both were amazing! Bit of a bummer we weren’t able to get the fire going, issue with the type of wood provided. I recommend bringing your own fire starter brick. We will be back.

My wife & I needed an escape. The drive wasn't that far, and the value for this getaway was fantastic. The room was nice and spacious, and it seemed like they tried to up keep it for sure. The bathroom needs a reno though. It was dated and smelled funny. The smart TV was a handy bonus, which we enjoyed. The staff was very nice and made the stay great. The boat tour was fantastic. The kayaking was enjoyable. The Lake is quite, calm, and serene. The food was MEH, but pricey. Breakfast was not worth the price tag. The dinner menu wasn't that great. The steak was good, but the pasta was ight. Pricey menu. So we opted to go to town for lunch and dinner the rest of the stay. The swimming indoors was great. It was clean and enjoyable. All in all, even with the cons, this place was fantastic and you get great value for what you spend. Loved it.

I stayed at Sir Sam's for 3 nights in March 2023, looking for a place that was not too busy (off season) and luxurious enough that I felt pampered. I went by myself in order to recharge my social battery. I cannot say enough about the service and the staff at this resort. From the time of booking to day of check out, I was treated like a princess! Veronica's unending patience with checking me in and answering my bottomless pit of questions and requests, Devynn's knowledge of the resort and surrounding area and super accommodating attitude, Tracy (sp?) at the bar, who provided me with my ice-ice-baby :), the chef, who I never laid eyes on but made me the most amazing pasta dinner for room service, and of course Sarah, who's crystals advice, spa hostess skills, and especially her heads up for me to look upward in order to experience the most amazing northern lights show I have ever witnessed!!! My room was cozy with my own balcony, whirlpool tub, fireplace, and fridge and coffee machine, with amazing views of Eagle Lake. The water spa was absolutley delightful! (I recommend to go and watch the sunset) I went in after dark to soak up the starlit roof surrounded by soft blue-light. But the staff are definitely what will guarantee a return trip for me, 5 star service for sure! Thank you all so much for making my getaway special xoxo

We just got back form a two night stay and had an excellent time. Very comfortable room with a jacuzzi tub and wood burning fireplace. The meals package was well worth it as everything was delicious with good size portions. The waterspa was a blast, very clean with five different therapeutic experiences plus a plunge bucket - we gave that a pass. Also, the location is very attractive, inside and out. Some of the amenities could use updating and I am sure it's ongoing, but everything worked and that's all we could ask. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They definitely want to please you. We will be back.

I was surprised with a weekend getaway to Sir Sam's!! It was the most lovely, romantic, and relaxing experience. The rustic, welcoming, cozy vibes were absolutely wonderful. The spa itself, the massages, the room, the food - it all exceeded what would be expected. To finish off the trip my boyfriend proposed - we left the perfect destination as an ecstatic engaged couple!! Sir Sam's will always be such a special place for us. They have been in business century, hopefully centuries more to come !!!

Beautiful location,with stunning views, nice indoor and outdoor pools. There areGame rooms, indoor and outsoor pool, & plenty of seating.Unfortunately the spa has limited hours as does the restaurant, i suggest booking ahead.The whole town shuts down at around 9pm. My partner was working untill 8, so we were not able to eat In the restaurant as the last seating was 715pm , the staff accommodated us by doing take out. The food was well presented, but over priced as a virgin ceaaer is $9. A salad $22. Pasta $31.They do have keurig machines In the room, however the coffee was really bad. It would be nice to see a coffee machine up front to get creams ect.The staff was kind and welcoming. Their is some old antique charm to the hotel, but over all it could use some major upgrades from the rooms, to patio furniture, bathtubs and lounges. The grounds are large with plenty of activities to do, but it could use some yard maintenance and gardening to add some romance.I found it was an Older crowd and unfortunately it was raining while I was there, i would consider returning when it's warmer weather with a group of friends to enjoy the eminities now that I know what to expect.
