U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer

The guy who worked there was only there 2 mins to opening and made us wait,then he was really short tempered and rude the entire time. He was more concerned with bragging about the cringey inappropriate ufc display then helping us. Everything he said was a short snotty reply. Didnt explain how to return the trailer after hours and because he didnt open and get things going on time there was a 5 people line up. The place also closed its public washroom for no reason and it was stacked ceiling high with stuff that looked like junk. Their key/paperwork drop off had no sign and i only found it by walking around the side of the building and its this tiny white thing that looks like a vent with poorly written key drop" in faded marker.."

Worst customer service. I called to inquire about an email that was sent to me regarding a rental that wasn't done by me. All i had a chance to say, before the person that answered the phone scream at me, was: i got an email. He started screaming at me to back up, which at first, by the way the person screamed, i honestly thought that someone is hitting something and not actually talking to me. More than that, i didn't even have to what to back up as i wasn't really given a chance to say much. But apparently this person was really upset that i didn't introduced myself first, even though he didn't introduced himself when answering the company phone line, which would be more in order when answering the company phone line. He continued to lecture me very condescending on the fact that i should have started my conversation with my name. We lost a couple of minutes on that...when finally he decided to move to why i actually called, the fact that i got an email for a rental that was not mine and just wanted to make sure is not fraud. I explained that i was planning on giving all the information i had - name, confirmation number, had I've been given the chance before he start screaming.

Pay close attention to the overwhelming amount of 1 star reviews. The owner is willing to outright assault customers if there are complaints about his u-hauls. U-hauls are not cleaned staff is somehow unqualified for the retail job they are doing. Robert and Leo certainly have an interesting way of handling customers. Use ANY other location as these people do not deserve your business.

The owner is super disrespectful to the members that go to my gym next door but I was still willing to give his business a chance and as expected very disappointed! Called and booked a uhaul at this location. Date and time confirmed by the male employee on the phone. Next day I receive a phone call that they messed up and didn’t have a trailer for me at this location I had to go to the North branch, which closed at 4 and I was in school till 4. Thankfully the north end branch saved me just unfortunately had to leave school early to make it on time. This location also quoted me $15 more than the north end location! If you need a uhaul only deal with other locations in red deer and save yourself some money and a headache.

Avoid at all costs. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. If you have to use them for some reason don't go there alone. I would recommend pulling out your phone and recording your entire interaction, you never know when you will need it for court....

Pick up was great, friendly & talkative. I was given a receipt that showed an estimated mileage charge of $1.59 for 25miles, he said it was average. I thought ok. He then said make sure to fill before drop off. No problem. I gave him a $300 cash deposit. Got the keys & went to van. Right away I snapped a pic of the odometer. 52993 Mi & gas tank showed full.Next day, stopped at Canadian Tire & topped of tank, cost me $5.01. Pulled into uhaul, parked it & mileage read 53001 which is a difference of 8miles. 8 mi at $1.59 is 12.72, the cost of the uhaul was &19.95. With taxes added it should have been $34.30 total. He then started calculating on his phone, not once did he look at me. I told him how many miles it was & had had receipt handy. Not once did he look me in the eye. Then he said do you have a dollar? I thought I did then said no. He said never mind & handed me $50s. I fanned them & it looked right but I never counted it & left. Half hour later I checked, they were the only 50’s I had & he gave me $250 back. He stiffed me for 15.70! Wow what a nice tip he gave himself! And he’s the owner.

The owner is extremely rude. Read through some of the comments here. My bad experience is in no way unique. Drive a few extra minutes and go somewhere else.

Staff is very rude and disrespectful. They were busy read this sign. And was told you can't hook up. Was also told 10 am pick up. The lady at the front was completely out line rude.Need this trailer now, will never come back to this location ever once it is returned!

There is an employee named robert there, and trust me you don’t want to deal with him. I rented a truck for a cpl days and I agreed to let him know how long I would need it as I knew. I spent the second day of having the rental looking at homes to move to, while I was looking at a home robert tried called me at least 2 times from uhaul number, which I was going to call back soon as I was done looking at the home. By the time I got to my car my phone was ringing from a different number, I answer and it’s robert acting as though I was avoiding uhaul calls, but yet answered to his number. Was extremely rude telling me I need to communicate with him. I had let him know I was going to be calling. The second I hung up the phone he charged my credit card another $212, when the rental is only $39 a day…Never ended up finding a home, returned uhaul next day. And then….We found a rental a week later. Rented truck again on a Friday. Got keys for new place on Saturday afternoon. Told him we needed it for at least the weekend. Robert calls Monday morning at 10 am while we were unloading still. We missed call. Tried to call back 4 times and got no answer. Then when he called again he used his personal phone and again acted as though we avoided uhauls number. We told him we tried to call him back and we were told we were idiots for calling during the lunch hour. As if we knew they stopped answering phones during lunch. And then tried to talk about how long we would be with the truck today, he said “cut to the chase” when we tried to speak. Sooooo rude!!! I asked him what his problem was, he kept referring to me as ma’am instead of my name, to cut me off when we tried to let them know what time we would be returning the truck. I reminded him my name is “” and not ma’am. Then he immediately hung up on me. I called customer service to complain and I will not be letting this go. I don’t recommend this location!

I phoned and was quoted $85 to rent a trailer, when I arrived I was told a $300 deposit was required. I have used this location in the past and never needed such a large deposit on a trailer. Will be using the Cooper Roofing location on the north end of 67th from now on as they helped me immediately for under $100 and apologized on behalf of the other location.
