Raise the Root Organic Market
A small local store with a small curated collection of produce and a few other goods.I've updated my score from 3 to 5 stars. If you're comparing this to a Loblaws, you'll be unhappy. But if you'd like a selection of organic fruit and veg and other healthy and healthier items, this is a great place to go.I often buy fig bars by the box here, which I haven't seen available anywhere else!I also get the best oat milk that is only $4 a d change (cheaper than the $8 stuff and has only 3 ingredients in it).If you want to buy in bulk, theyll give you someone card who will help you place orders and save more on your shopping. I haven't tried this yet as my condo doesn't support that kind of shopping. It's the same reason why I don't have a Costco membership.I typically walk to the store. I'm sure there are a few parking options, but I'm not aware of what they are. If I am driving, I usually have someone in the car as I run inside. There's also a decent butcher shop a couple doors down, so if you are looking to buy meat you can stop there then buy your veg at Root.

I love this place - they have a decent selection of fruits and veggies, healthy snacks, and their products all come from local farms and small companies that follow ethical practices. There are a few familiar brands of course but not like big food chains. You can be confident that you’re buying food made with quality ingredients and know that you’re helping a small business instead of some major corporation. They even sell household products and soaps - it’s great if you only need a few things and want to make one quick stop. FYI, their bananas are the absolute best I’ve ever eaten! I’m serious when I say I will only ever eat their bananas, because regular store bananas (including organic ones) taste awful after you try theirs. Also, the staff are great - always have to show some love for those who make it all run smoothly!!

First time visiting and I was very happy with my experience here! It is a small store but it is neatly organized and carries all the essentials if you need to make a quick trip for groceries. The quality of the organic produce is great. I didn't catch the name of the cashier (I think it was Johnny?) but he was very friendly and patient with all the customers which is great to see and why I'm giving this five stars.

First time in an organic shop. Not big is size, but really a warm and upbeat vibe, seems to have lots of products and all the staff serve with a smile and friendly spirit! Bought a sourdough bread loaf... $5+, but was delicious!

Amazing what can be packed into that little store. Always friendly staff and good selection of difficult to find organic and natural health products. Good selection of vegan items too (dairy free cheeses etc). A little pricey, but that's Toronto for ya - I'd say easily comparable to Rowe Farms for most items and sometimes cheaper. I highly recommend if you're curious.

Such good people created such a good market. They have signage on each product to indicate where it is from and whether it contains gluten, etc and if it is local, organic, etc. One of the owners also gifted me fingerling potatoes because it's fun." Made my week."

Shopped here for 3 years, best grocery store in Toronto! Products are amazing, they are a bit pricy but you get what you pay for and that means QUALITY!!! The staff here is kind and inviting and it gives you that cozy and cute shopping experience. Definitely recommend coming here, once you try what a real banana tastes like you'll never get a banana elsewhere.

Raise The Root is my absolute favourite place to shop all things healthy and sustainable in Toronto. They sell all my favourite healthy snacks, pantry items and the freshest organic produce. Not only do they support both local-Toronto companies (which I love!), but they stay on top of sourcing new and exciting products with fair prices. It’s such a treat to shop here, could not recommend enough!

Love this place. It has a surprising amount of products for such a small store. Almost all of my groceries can be purchased there. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable.
