LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services

This is one of the best LifeLabs locations in Burnaby. The staff are super friendly, and very efficient. Although it is on the East side of Burnaby, and Metrotown is more central, I am in an out of here in 15 minutes using save my spot. This is a highly recommended location. Thank you everyone. :)

I had to take my 5 month old son to get some bloodwork and the level of service exceeded my expectations. I had used save my spot and we didn't have to wait long which was my worry with a 5 month old. The staff who was doing the covid prescreen was also the one who took my son's blood and she was SO friendly and really made the whole experience as positive as possible for my son. She had great bedside manners and was cheerful. I wish I was able to thank her but she was busy helping a co-worker when we left. If you ever read this, THANK YOU and you are appreciated.

I had a bad experience couple of times at New West 5th Ave Life Lab, that once i left there crying and googled another location around, so I found this one. Since then, I always come here, even if is a but further. All the team is above great! Every time i come here, i receive such a friendly approach from everyone. Love this place and people here❤️ You can tell, everyone is working in a beautiful atmosphere:)

I was in and out within 15 minutes! If you check in online using the Save My Spot app, it saves a lot of time. All the staff were courteous and efficient.

Staff here are super friendly and during COVID times I like that they had very strict protocols and more staff on hand to ensure their own and everyone else's safety. Booking appointments is super easy online and I find this location the wait times are reasonable compared to Metrotown. There isn't that much parking here but I have never had an issue parking in the lot.

Although it is walk-in only (no appointments), every time I've been this year I have been checked in quickly and had a short wait time for blood tests. The staff person at the front desk is efficient! Free parking lot and free parking in the neighbourhood (e.g., less than a block away on 11th Ave)

UPDATE: June 2022decided to not to go to metro bec there are too many patients and you could stay there for 3hrs even if you have Save My Spot app. now it's down. Use Save My Spot app so you dont have to line up. they will call you 5-10mins before your wait time bec the nurses are so fast in doing their job. very efficient. needle pokes are fast for my blood test with 6viles, less than 7mins to do.for my gestational diabetes test for pregnant people they have you drink a small bottle of glucos that taste like overly sweet candy (which i have tasted before) so it's not too bad. BUT you could throw up and it will invalidate your test and you will need to redo it. they placed me in a room to relax then they will call your name so be sure you can hear them and not zome out.i also did my urine test here. fairly ok bathroom...not clean cz too many people doing urine tests. but they don't have a shelf for you to put your cup before you empty into it. so just be mindful of that.i would still come here again bec other places are way to jam packed with people like metro while i do my urine tests. it's around a school area so not too many residents come here.--Very fast now...considering the ratio there were less patients coming I cz it was Lunch time! Perfect time. I do the Save My Spot app they have but I didn't need to do it anymore when I saw no one was lining up. Not a big place at all so make sure you know the timing.Parking is limited but high turn around rate. I am not sure if it's 1-2hrs or 30mins parking. There is also underground parking. You can also park around the area since it's free as well, unlike Metro area.This place is on the ground floor, Left side at the very BACK. their banners are covered by the sleep office. They seriously need a bigger banner or just a big logo of LifeLabs. People just knock on the other place LOL!I only got blood work 4viles.Door entrance has someone briefing people coming in. People have to line up outside while waiting to get in. 15max inside.glass 1, they are training someone to in take people (tell them why you are here, name, give your health care card, give your papers, etc)glass 2, she took the information and told me where I should go and what seat# I should be sitting in. You should already be asking all your questions here bec no one will answer you during the test (you can but no one has time).LOOK AT THE FLOOR MARKINGS when you have no idea where everything is. It's small. See pics. Mostly blood letting is just chairs and others in a small room.MASK REQUIRED! Don't complain bec these nurses still need to wear A HOT PPE indoors during summer. So compared to them mask ain't nothing to complain about.BE POLITE cz they were good in letting people in and out as fast as they can. call ahead of time if you have questions cz it's crazy busy. YES, even in other LifeLabs.Clean place, fast staff, quality so far. Staff said good bye and have a good day.. when I left. AND I DID!

Some receptionists are really hard to deal with, very very hard. Put in mimd that we are all humans and need some good, polite and kind treatment. Everybody is stressed and with a lot of problems, not only you.

Busy! The team behind the counter was quite efficient. The waiting customers that kept interrupting and being rude was what was slowing them down. Be a good patient patient.

What is the point of being appointment only if those with appointments need to wait an hour or more to be seen?Such a waste of time!!I arrived at 10:05 for my 10:20 appointment, got checked in after waiting 15 mins and am still waiting at 11:10. What's worse is this test just requires me to drink a glucose drink and wait an hour ---- why couldn't they just give me the drink and save me the double wait?!Editing to say the staff were all extremely kind here and the wait was partly due to a medical emergency so my initial 1 star is now a 3.
