Burnhamthorpe Fruit Market
It's a quaint and unique supermarket that sells a variety of products including some cooked foods. Some items seem appetizing, but honestly, after seeing some of the staff handle the food, it threw me off. During the covid pandemic, mandatory masks were required indoors. Seeing some of the staff themselves take their masks off was troubling. Seeing the store let a customer walk in and totally ignore and continue to serve the customer even more troubling. Otherwise, the store isn't bad.

Best place for super fresh produce, breads, sweet treats. Also has a hot table with good variety. Great meat counter with helpful staff for your bbq-ing needs.

I actually do most of my shopping here and only go to the supermarket to buy odds & ends... except prosciutto ends, which I also buy here. Quality is excellent, prices at the deli and meat counter are pretty hard to beat, especially after you take the quality into account.

Visited this fruit market for the first time because I wanted to purchase organic fruits as advertised, however there was not any to be found. I asked 2 separate employees where the organic fruits were and they did not know what that was or which ones were organic.

I bought tomato, beautiful red,shiny on one side, when I turned them upside down, it was disquieting Mold white, grey and black. I brought to the store not for money but to proof what of kind of produce they selling. They didn;t want to return the money. I said that I am dealing with cancer and mold cause it.I am going to inform Health Department. Gross produce , terrible people .

The shortbread cookies here taste really good! Soft and buttery, they just melt in your mouth! Good selection of bakery items as well: I like their blueberry danishes and I've heard the apple pies are really good too. The vine leaves are really good, and they have garlic olives which I like as well (although they are very salty!) I usually rinse them about 3-4x before consuming. They used to sell BBQ Turkey sausages but no longer, so that's a dissapointment; otherwise it's a great place to shop locally.

If you want quality and fresh in your food, then you have to visit this store. They have an excellent setup, and it’s overall a great experience to shop here. We especially loved their freshly baked chocolate croissants and baguettes.
