ALIGO Rent A Car (Downtown Vancouver)

Actually it was my worst experience renting a car in North America. Although I booked ahead of time and paid in full, the lady in the office refused to give me the one I booked, she instead offered an electric one with $40 extra cost. After I rejected, she wasted my time for around 20 minutes to talk over the phone and then offered another car with $20 extra cost. She mentioned the car was dirty and I needed to wait for 20 more minutes to have it clean.Long story short, it was really worst experience I had and finally could not get my car and had to use EVO after around one hour waste of time.Don’t recommend at all.

They make money from scam, especially if you're a tourist. They know you'll leave the country soon so they use old photos to show you damage" hence charge your deposit. Always keep full photo/video record when you return the car and make sure they recognize no damage first before you leave the car (if you must rent from them). Good luck."

Very bad experiences ! Personal nothing profesional, customer service non-existent !I booked a 4 days rental … received all confirmation mails and everything ! But on the day of the pick up, the office was closed … nobody was answering the emergency phone for half hour and then the told me that they were closed and they were nothing they could do … that i should go to hertz or avis to try to rent something !I lost my ferry and one night hotel ! Had to rent a car at the last minute to not lose all my trips …I wont never go back to that rental !

Twice I arrived at this facility after booking in advance, only to have the cars unavailable. Both times I had to be driven to another lot, causing me to be hours late. Now, they contact me to pay a parking ticket, when I wasn't even renting from them that date. They are quick to apologize and offer upgrades, but that doesn't mean these mistakes aren't happening over and over again... they don't try to rectify their business practices.

Great customer service, even gave me a free upgrade! Inexpensive and fast. Would recommend.

Easy process to book (through 3rd party) and to pick up and return the vehicle. Was provided with a new vehicle (12000 km) and a model (Corolla) that was better than I'd anticipated. Friendly service. Convenient location inside the Delta hotel.

Aligo Rent A Car in Vancouver does not manage their fleet well enough to honour your reservations.Despite receiving a phone call 24 hours prior to pick up time to confirm my two (2) reservations, made several months ago, they completely failed to produce.Their staff lacks professionalism and frankly doesn’t really care about customer service. That was evident when we were offered an unacceptable alternative and then told “take it or nothing”.Frankly, I would not be surprised if they prioritized their fleet availability for more recent, higher rate reservations over those booked in slow seasons.Sadly, I should have checked Google Reviews because this behaviour of over promising and under delivering is common is their business plan.Owned by ACE Rent A Car, I expect better. Imagine if I was an out of country visitor being left holding the bag like this.Beware of ALIGO RENT A CAR in Vancouver so they don’t ruin your vacation too.

If I had to go another 10km to rent a car I would rather do that if I knew what a headache this company is.The inventory on the website DOES NOT reflect actual inventory at the car rental areas. We received a call with less than 24 hours notice that they could not give us a vehicle either on time or at the location. Keep in mind we had booked SEVERAL DAYS AHEAD.We ended up receiving an upgrade which was nice and was reassured our 8AM reservation could be honoured. On the day of NO ONE IS PRESENT until 9AM despite being told multiple times our 8am reservation could be accommodated. We did not have a car until 10AM.Not to mention that we were given a massively DENTED DAMAGED CAR. The car rental associate refused to change vehicles and states that we had a luxury upgrsde and we had to remind the associate if we wanted an upgrade we would pay. They don’t hesitate to use language such as stop bit**ing. Keep in mind I never used derogatory language during my interaction.Stay away do not book here and save yourselves the massive headache. Do not waste your car rental time here. SAVE YOUR MONEY BOOK ELSEWHERE AND MAKE THE TRIP ELSEWHERE

Had a great experience with them. Got an almost new car and very friendly service. They don’t seem to have a big fleet, but we got a way better deal with them than with other companies. One day before pickup, they asked me to come one hour later, as our car was yet to be cleaned, which was okay for us.
