My instructor Samuel was AMAZING. Experienced, dedicated and 110% committed to teaching me on the 50 hour Professional Sea Plane Pilot Course.The aircraft was safe and modern and always ready.The location at Pitt Meadows is perfect fro training: lakes, rivers, ocean mountains, uncontrolled, controlled airspace.Sam made this the best flying experience of my life

Terrible company. Their instructors are for the most part, patronizing and political. Their management has no manners and are hypocrites. The owners do not seem to care about this. If you love flying, Island Coastal will destroy any desire you have to fly.In particular, their instructors are a revolving door. Stay away from one of their instructors, Sam G. This person has no business in aviation. Rude. Inconsistent. Incoherent English.Stay away from here.

The planes are well maintained. Thanks to Ilesh, my instructor who helped me finish my CPL and Kwun is a very good student mentor and highly knowledgeable person running the school.

I worked at ICA from Jan 2022 to Aug 2022 as a dispatcher. It was an OK job, unpredictable and unprofessional management time to time. After I handed in my resignation (due to management wanting on call dispatcher) , they did not pay me for my last shift. After calling and email several times; they sent me an employee release form that mentioned I could not sue them for anything basically. Couple days later, I called again and someone answered and told me that they will pay me when I sign the release form. After consulting with BC Employment, I have decided to not sign it and called again. The person that answered my call said that they have other bills to pay; like telus hydro rent and other employees and wanted me to be PATIENT. After six months of going back and forth with BC Employment and filing a monetary claim agains ICA for unpaid wages, I finally received my paycheck today Jan 30,2023! Not a single apology from the management. As a flight training student my self, I understand how hard it is to find a decent flight school but be aware of who you're giving your money and hopes to.. If you're considering this flight school for training, be aware that you're giving your hard earned money to a management that treats their employees poorly and unfairly!

Best flying school in lower mainland. They get your ppl and cpl done in the most efficient and wallet friendly manner. Quality of instructing is very high be it flight or on ground. Very high paced school environment. They have an amazing fleet consisting of c150,C152,C172 and float planes. Definitely recommend if you want your training to be done asap.

I did my PPL at Island Coastal Aviation and really enjoyed it there. It's a small, friendly mom and pop" school with only a few instructors and 5 airplanes. The instructors were top notch and truly cared about their students. Thanks Jeff

Great school!! New management is really putting in the work and effort into making this school better. My flight training took long with other schools and i felt like i was paying money unnecessarily, after i joined island costal under new management, i’ve progressed much faster and currently the fastest i have since i started flying in 2020.Big thanks to my instructor Kwun, and the entire staff, feels like home and it rekindled my passion for flying :)
