We have been working with Phalan and Rich for 8 months now and couldn't imagine how we would have been able to navigate through starting up our business without them. They are excellent coaches, and each provide great perspectives and advice in guiding their clients through everything and anything! Stoke Growth has continued to provide us with all of the tools we've needed to get us set-up for success as leaders in our business.

We were experiencing a downturn in business and an increase in expenses. Contrary to what most business owners would do, we took on one more expense – business coaching. We needed some help and we knew it. We are really good at what we do – we have confidence in our skills – but the sales part, and making new connections is a challenge for both of us. I had recently met Rich Grof at a Meetup and there was something about the quality of his contributions to a round table discussion that impressed me. When Alan and I met with Rich and Phalan, we really liked the connection we felt. As Rich put it ‘we will have four heads around any problem instead of two’ and that’s exactly how it has gone… we use Zoom so we can see each other and talk openly; we’re able to share our fears and challenges with them – they are good listeners and the advice they offer is specific to what we need; there is no set program. The first stage was to improve our website and messaging – be much more specific about the value we bring to our clients – not just about what we do but why we do it!After a few months, we started to feel more confident. And whether by coincidence or because of their coaching, or a combination of both, our business started to blossom. Our focus was clearer – we had fine-tuned our message and defined who our ideal clients were. New opportunities started popping up, a big overseas project came through, and an increase in work from long-term clients. With coaching help, we were starting to write blog posts and case studies, contributing more on LinkedIn to raise awareness – we’re still not great at this but we are working at it. We continue to meet with Rich & Phalan twice a month and consider it an important part of our business.
