Safari Market

So I went to this place early in December, and I bought many items, went home, upon arriving at home, I realized that some of the items had already gone over the Best before date. I did not have time to go back, but today 01/19/18 I went back there and informed the Lady working at the till that they are selling expired items to the public, however she vehemently denied that they're expired, she said the best before date does not mean that the food items are expired. She said she is a nurse and that she knows better, I was really disgusted by her ignorance. The items in question had this on them BB 2017 August 20, and we are in 2018/01/19 Now please people explain something I don't know about this. She also said the government of Canada gives freedom to retailers to sell items that have gone over the Best before Date! What kind of nonsense is this? I am reporting this to the Authorities,this business can not continue to kill people slowly like this.

Good selection of fresh produce ,and canned goods. Would liked to have seen Guava jelly or jam.

Great place, clean and everyone is so helpful but everything I bought was either way past it’s best before date or a few days shy I’m very disappointed because they have a very wide selection of Southern Africa goods

My friends and I accidentally purchased an expired item from this store and we were asked to bring the item back within 7 days when we called to inform them.We brought the product back to the store in due time but the store owner was not helpful, had an attitude, had no empathy and insisted on an exchange when the return policy on the receipt indicated that items could be returned.Things could have gone south, we could have had food poisoning because we only realized it had expired after we had started eating it

Of all the ethnic grocery outlets in Saskatoon Safari is on top for quality and service. Their produce is as fresh as it can possibly be and the business owner and staff are very welcoming to customers. Safari Market is the place to source authentic ethnic products.

It is a clean store, but it is necessary to check for expiry dates of items when you buy goods there. The groceries can be pricey.Depending on where you are from it may be difficult to find authentic/ fresh foods from your country.I would say that the store caters mainly to West African cuisine.Also the store location is out of the way.

Obviously when you come from another country you don't care about expiry dates when you live in another country you'd better check because you will get shut down like the African store on 20th street that was infested with rats, that is why they got shut down and you will be the next to be shut down I guarantee it and your owner you better stop copying an attitude with people...

Very neat and well organized.Nice customer service.Parking available right in front of the store.*got all I needed for within my budget of $50....yes! Price is affordable and fair.

Really awesome selection. Do watch out because some stuff is past the best before, but it still tastes fine. The staff have always been very nice and helpful
