If I could give it a zero star I would. I was contacted by this office and offered a new life insurance policy that met my needs better than the one I currently had with them.The paper work was done and all was well.In November I realized I had been direct debited for my old policy and my new policy for October and November. So, I had in fact been charged twice for both months.I brought this to the attention of the office and was told this was of course an error that would be fixed immediately. They assured me I would be refunded.It is now January and I have still not been refunded. They are now refusing to return the money they took from my account, leaving my account overdrawn.This began in October and is now January. I have had endless phone calls and emails with the Wallaceburg branch resulting in paths leading nowhere. Today I have cancelled the policy entirely and any further business with Desjardins in Wallaceburg or anywhere else.This is the very thing that gives insurance in general a very bad name.Clearly I would not recommend this insurance company after the disgraceful way I have been treated. I believe this foreshadows the experience my family could have in the event of my death when they would need to make a claim. If they can not even refund what is in black and white on my bank statements as a double billing for two months, how hard would it be to get a payout in the event of a claim?They have lost years of further business with me permanently due to two months payments, This shows they do not value the individual customer at all. There are plenty of other companies out there that may.
