Dr. Michel Youssef | Downtown Montreal Dentist

Dr. Youssef has been my dentist for more than 20 years! He is very knowledgeable and professional dentist! His diagnostic is always excellent and his work is perfect!The staff working with him are very cheerful and helpful, specially Diane!I have recommended him and will continue to do so.

We love Dr. Youssef! So much so that we both travel from South Florida just to see him and Dr. Muroff(who I heard recently retired). He is that good and accommodating. A rare gentle dentist willing to go the extra mile and think outside the box. My husband has a complicated mouth that needs a lot of special care, his work is superb and we greatly appreciate all he has done for us over the years. Looking forward to our next dental visit once we can start safely travelling again, now how often do you hear that?! Perhaps next year.

I went in to get a Maryland bridge re-bonded and it was very unpleasant. Despite saying he could do it, Dr. Youssef failed at something that other dentists don't seem to have an issue with. During the procedure he failed to remove the old cement (dismissing my concerns when I asked about it) as well as used the wrong cement for the appliance. I found out about the cement being wrong when I saw another dentist to have it re-bonded again, as Dr. Youssef’s shoddy work meant it detached less than 48 hours after having it done. Additionally, he tried convincing me multiple times that I should arrange to get a permanent bridge, though I doubt I’d trust him with anything more than a drugstore toothbrush after my experience.

They are refusing to release my medical records to me. They stated when I first made the appointment that it would cost $350 for scans and $400 per wisdom tooth. They then took me in, took different scans without telling me they were different, and charged me $475 instead. Those fancier scans were not covered by my insurance and they should have told me what they were doing. They then quoted me $690 per tooth. When I asked them 9 times, yes I called 9 times to get my expensive scans sent to me, they didn’t send them. They said I had to ask my general dentist who asked twice and they still have not sent my most recent scans over. I have the legal right to copies of those scans. I am allowed to shop around and see the prices other dentists offer instead of being taken advantage of. Ironically, they have waited so long to send me my scans I have now moved out of the province and couldn’t even go to them if they did have reasonable prices. These people are not worth the hassle. I had my appointment on Jan 18th by the way, and it is now May 21st. Unbelievably unprofessional behaviour, avoid these weasels at all costs.

Amazing! I've been coming here for over 10 years and Dr.Youssef has helped me through all sorts of dental procedures with ease. I drive over an hour in traffic for my visits and it's totally worth it. He goes out of his way to ensure I understand each procedure and the reasons for it. He keeps things light and genuinely cares during and after each visit, always taking the time to follow up!Also, adore the staff! They're all so sweet and understanding, they make scheduling easy and make you feel right at home when you walk in.

This dentist is the worst!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Dr. Michael Youssef is rude and arrogant. He is awful to his staff. He does not explain the procedures properly. He does all the treatment first and then tells u the prices which leaves u a huge bill to pay. Save yourself and do not go here. Horrible place!!

I just had the best experience with Dr. Youssef and his team. I felt genuinely cared for. Dr. Youssef took the time to listen and understand my needs. The whole team was very friendly and made me feel right at home. You don't see that often now a days! I strongly recommend Dr. Youssef and his team to anyone who needs great dental care with no short cuts. Dentistry at its best and the way it should be done! THANK YOU!

I gave one star because there was no option for a negative number. I felt a lot of anxiety during one appointment, and was uncomfortable with his reaction, so I decided to leave. He tried to get me to sign a non-disclosure agreement on the way out, saying he would sue me for false public statements. He then sent me a bill for 1600$ worth of work he hadn’t done, and now is resisting sending my records to my regular dentist. He will get you in fast in an emergency, but get patched up and go somewhere else.Edited to add: He sent my records, and sent me a letter from a lawyer threatening to pursue me for defamation because of the claims I made in this review.

Avoid this dentist !I had a similar experience than all the other 1-star comments.Firstly, it’s way more expensive than other dentists. They are pushing you to buy more services, such as polishing with a cleaning or doing two exams in one session (so you pay twice). They are clearly after your money.But more importantly, Dr Youssef is absolutely not professional ! He literally screamed at me twice when I told him I needed time to think about a procedure. He was trying to force me the procedure by scaring me and intimidating me. When you say yes to him, he is a nice person, but whenever you are saying you need time, he will reveal is true face (which is not a pleasant one). He was also treating really badly his assistant and his hygienist in front of me.I left this place with way less money and a new fear of dentist. Please, do not go there.
