Just drive to the end of Morden Road. I took a wrong turn and ended up at the Nanaimo River swimming hole.Awesome artifact of abandoned history! Short loop with self-guided explanations

Great walk to the Nanaimo River. Peaceful. Interesting industrial ruins restored recently. Ruined by horses. The trails are too narrow. The equestrians leave waste and take over the trail. Unfortunate. They should not be permitted in this small, narrow trailed park.

Must stop at and explore. Awesome job restoring the mine. You can also take a short walk down to the river.

Small but interesting park with the last standing historic concrete coal mining structure in Canada! Very cool to see and only 2 km off the highway. No bathrooms though!

I'm so glad we stopped en route to our destination to do this hike. When you can only hear the sounds of nature it's a wonderful thing.

A unique step back in time to see Vancouver Islands last remaining coal mine standing structure. The historic park is set in a nice forest setting where you are able to witness nature take back this once booming industrial location. Nature trails circle the park and also a large trail system trailhead is located here. A nice way to spend a Saturday or Sunday

My friend and I were out n about simply looking for a place in the shade to have a snack on a sunny day. Then low and behold this piece of time. We'd previously done the Dodds narrows walk and didn't do the trail here, but we did have our picnic by the structure, neither of us expected. All I'd say is get some picnic tables at the entrance by the structure so ppl can enjoy the park a bit longer.

Nice trails. Currently (March 2021) the structure of the old mine is under construction, which is too bad. Lots of neat things to see, but wish there were more info about what the old broken down structures are.

Another great place to walk your dog. The trails are short about 3-4 Kim's. But, when you put them all together, the trails go on for a good distance.
